You can get posts that are removable, or that fold down. http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/Categories/security-posts/1.html

You need to consult your deeds to see if you have to allow vehicular access, if not then a bollard installed on your half.

I could get a wheely bin down that gap no problem, they do flex after all ;)

Although photos can be deceptive, in that the gap looks larger in the pic. than it actually was.

I'm guessing you don't have my Pizza stomach ;)

EDIT - the cars they usually leave in the Access-way such as their own Volvo 4 x 4 are wider than that white Nissan - and definitely don't leave any room for bins or anyone to get past.

Thanks - I was contemplating a fold-down, but...the ones that can be vertically removed / re-inserted do "look more permanent".

I've yet to look, but if the deeds say NOTHING about the Access-way - does that mean we are free to install a bollard?

Hope you are prepared for "The Chicago Way" then, I can see this one escalating. :(
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

It needs a good tidy up and weeding too. What do the call it when the place looks like a !!!! tip, so the new neighbour moves in and thinks it's ok to tip rubbish there? Once the car is gone the whole neighbourhood will be fly tipping there.
