Using clubcard vouchers to book a holiday

Can you share your experience of booking a holiday with your clubcard vouchers? I am planning to go away late October for two weeks to Cyprus and I just wondered if it was worth using my vouchers or would I be better off looking for a late, cheap deal? I have around £900 worth of vouchers to use, there are two adults, two children and a baby, we would prefer to go all inclusive.
Thank you!
Thank you!

We've booked to go to Florida with our vouchers with Virgin.
It was very easy - I totted up how many vouchers we had and then gave them a call for a quote. After I got the quote I sent off for my tokens and booked the day that they came through.
Give Cosmos and XL a call to see what they can do for you. Once you've got the quote you can decide whether to use vouchers or hold out for a late deal0 -
I am on the brink of booking a holiday for two to Egypt with XL with my vouchers - a very nice feeling I am sure you'll agree!!
Although I've no experience of booking it yet I anticipate no problems. One piece of advice,if you do use your vouchers and you want to take out travel insurance, the only policy that would refund the value of the vouchers if you needed to claim is, yep you guessed it, Tesco Travel Insurance!!
Also, be ware of Cosmos - your vouchers are only valid against brochure prices which are expensive but with XL your vouchers are valid against the prices you see on the internet - you just have to book 21 dys before you travel.
It's just my personal view but I would use your vouchers - you cash will earn interest in the bank, your vouchers won't in the kitchen drawer!0 -
I'm about to book an October holiday with XL/Tesco but all bookings with XL have to be made before 31st October 2007 for holidays completed before October 2008.
I have already verified that the prices you see on the internet are what they quote by phone.
We have £1000 of vouchers which will get us a week in Greece for half term for 6 of us.
I am personally not going to hold out till 21 days before Ocotber half term because the prices now are low enough that we will have no more than £100 extra to pay and because of the need to book before the end of October I don't want to wait till late then find there's nothing left for us.0 -
Just be careful with the (holidays provided by Kosmar) bookable with XL to Greece as they told me clubcard deals couldnt be used on these.
Does anyone know if this is correct?"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
Thank you for your replies. Are XL part of Cosmos or a separate company? I can't remember seeing them on the Tesco Clubcard website. I am going to give them a call on Monday and see what is about. Still waiting on some vouchers though, hope they arrive soon!0

No not Cosmos its Kosmar and i called them earlier to double check and they said you cant use Tesco deals on holidays provided by Kosmar. When searching it tells you on the right hand side of the screen if its provided by them or not.
I am sure Kosmar and XL are part of the same group though."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
Have just been looking at XL holidays, on the website it says that "Holidays provided by Kosmar "
I'll give them a call Monday as we have found a holiday that takes our fancy!!
Thanks again0 -

Thanks for that info. It seems a bit unfair that Kosmar holidays don't qualify as it says nothing on the Tesco T&Cs with XL. I can't find a Greek holiday NOT provided by Kosmar.
It appears we will therefore be going to the Costa del Sol for October instead. Hubby has visions of thousands of Sun readers there and I have visions of thousands of wrinklies! This could be interesting as we've only once ever done a package holiday to a place in Mallorca where we were the only British family in the whole hotel - Torremolinos or Marbella here we come.0 -
Yep i also went through the Tesco website and couldnt find anything about not being able to book a Kosmar provided holiday through XL with clubcard deals. This i also mentioned to the XL customer service agent and she just didnt have a clue.
So i think we are going to book Majorca again although i was looking forward to going to Greece(Thassos)"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
The Cosmos catalogue does go to Greece, of course. You can use your Tesco vouchers for that. We got our vouchers (once we saw there were a number of choices) and then rang and booked what we wanted.
