Good idea - I will next time!0 -
[quote=[Deleted User];68907020]No. It was collected from home when I wasn't there. Family member gave them the keys - no signed form or receipt was offered.

Wonder how far the employee drove it before it got back to the rental station?0 -

Thats a good point. Rental station is about 7-8 miles away so if he went for his lunch, popped home, popped into tesco, it could have been the fuel was checked later.0 -
Well they've got back to me and said it was 5 litres short of being full so they're not refunding.
Obviously, the guy when he collects can do a visual check on the gauge but I'm guessing they only know it was 5 litres when they try to fill it. Otherwise he should be on telly if he can guess that well.
Having checked google maps the depot is 9 miles from home so looks like the guy has driven around for a bit or whatever burned the 5 litres (which I guess is 30 miles or so possibly). Then they've checked in the depot...
Can't believe how stupid they are. I've tried to remind them that my responsibility is until they collect the car not until they check it back at the depot.0 -
So they are charging you £3 a litre. Ouch!0

Boils down to your word against theirs I'm afraid.
Best solution is move on.. and never use Europcar again.0 -
No. Chargeback using your evidence, per my post #7. It would then be for Europcar to prove the OP is lying.0
-
He has no evidence.
its Word against Word0 -
Are you sure your cleaner did not siphon the petrol out of the tank between your filling it and its collection? There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
