New cars.....anybody got a picasso or alike?

  • I work with adults with learning disabilities and two years ago the motability lease on the car came up for renewal it was decided that a picasso would be a good car to get enough room etc etc. So all paperwork completed and it was ordered there have never been any problems with the car it has never gone wrong but in a staff team of 10 people only one says it is OK to drive they find the bar that blocks your view very obstructive as someone else said above.

They also describe that it has no pull I am not a driver so cannot comment personally I like the car to look at I dont like sitting in it it is leather interior which I find uncomfortable and I dont think the boot is that spacious either given the size of the car.

At home we have a renault espace which is fab bags of room in there.

We used to have vauxhall zafira at work and that was fab as well.

We have an astra, and with 2 adults and 2 children it's just not big enough, I had a sit and pokeabout in my friends picasso.....any views or experiences, thinking of part exchange and adding money to

We went from an astra, to an 07 C4 Picasso in May this year - we're also 2 adults and 2 children.

I can't fault it - I love it! Its so roomy! Theres the 7 seats if you need them - and a roomy boot when you don't need them. Its so comfy and easy to drive - the only problem i've had is trying to park as it feels so big and you cant see the end of the bonnet from the drivers seat.

We had a Zafira as a hire car in Ireland last year, and in comparison to the Citreon, the Zafira was much smaller in side and basically 'cheaper' looking, although the Citreon is a lot cheaper than most of the other MPV's.
  • We had an Astra and changed it for a Picasso a couple of years ago - I LOVE IT!

Nice and roomy, we also have 2 small girls, plenty of room for them in the back and the pull-down trays on the back of the seats are brill for the odd trip to McDonalds or just keeping them busy doing colouring on a long journey.

Lots of boot space, i'd highly recommend it.

Running costs aren't much different to the Astra, the insurance only worked out a few pounds more a month.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to buy - happy motoring xx

We also have a picasso and touch wood have had no problems with it, i love being high up, and we find the boot has plenty of space(we have 3 kids)..
  • We bought a BN Picasso last year and we have had NO problems at all with it. Its great! Very economical and high up which is good for me getting in and out being disabled.

    Great value for money.

We've got a Vauxhall Meriva which is great. And it's big enough for us & 2 kids, although I wanted a Zafira the wife thought it was too big:rolleyes:

I have a Picasso whih is now 4 years old and I bought it last year. I read lots of reviews etc before making my final choice, and I think it's been a good one.
I've been out today with Mum,dad, other half electric wheelchair and mobility scooter plus shopping for return!
I've had no faults or problems average almost 600 miles to a tank of diesel (2.0 engine). The oomph isn't there like a traditional car but I put that down to being diesel. Other half has a Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.6 diesel which has storage all over the place, fantastic vision and masses of space also moves like poop off a digging implement! Might not be the glossiest of cars to look at but it is most certainly practical, and cheap to run.

i've got a citroen berlingo which is ace - it's red so it looks like postman pat's van, it has little storage pockets EVERYWHERE, a funky little trolley that you can take out to do your shopping in and the boot is unbelievably capacious.
