And finally - like a previous poster, it turns out that my husband and I had inadvertantly crossed paths many times before we actually met, 14 years ago.
Ooh, that's reminded me of another coincidence.

Background first: I used to work for the Valuation Office Agency, and when Council Tax banding was first done, I used to take a lot of the calls from disgruntled home-owners who felt they had been put in the wrong band and wished to obtain the form to fill in to object.

Fast-forward to 2002, when I met Mr LW; he mentioned that when his bungalow was banded, he objected, and a gentleman from the VOA came out, told him he was correct, it was in the wrong band, and it would be amended.

From the description, the chap he saw was my former colleague "D"; and back then, I was fielding all the calls for "D"'s area, so I must've taken Mr LW's initial call asking for an objection form.:D

Little did he know that the beleaguered Valuation Clerk he spoke to about his council tax band would end up wearing his wedding band!:D

When we were kids, me and Hubby actually holidayed at the same holiday camps, for the same 2 weeks in 3 different years though we never met. My sister is sure though that she hung out with his younger sister one of those years at the holiday club.

When we first got together it turned out my best friend had been best friends with his sister and cousin when they were at primary and high school

We emigrated to Australia when I was a kid, lived in several houses there but always in the same suburb. We moved back a few years later and lived in a few different towns until my parents bought a house here. Fast forward a few years later, I was talking to the fiance of a school friend; it transpired that her family had done the same, although she lived a few suburbs away from me. However, we had both been to the same inter school sports events, same library and swimming pools and I went to school with a friend of her family!

A few years later I was talking to the school secretary where my twins had just started. She mentioned that she had lived in Australia as a child but I'd never know where it was as no-one had heard of it. When she said where it was I said 'Great library, fantastic swimming pool!, yep, the same place!!

My friend was on holiday in Greece, saw some people who looked vaguely familiar, turned out they were from our (English) home town but originally they were from .....Australia!! We must be an Aussie magnet.

I had lost touch with my best from Primary and Secondary school after she left school at 18 and got a job whereas I disappeared off to uni. We met again once at a our 25th year since starting secondary reunion.
6 years rolled on with no further contact.
Then I decided to get a dog and spent lots of time on forums researching the chosen breed. I got my puppy and posted pictures at which point one of the forumites I had been bombarding with questions recognised me - it was my school friend and she had also got a puppy from the same litter. I lived in Berkshire, she in Essex and the dog Breeder was in Lincolnshire!

    I have a few stories...But here's one :D

Back in the early 80s, when I was young free and single, I was clubbing with my mates on New years Eve (I was aged around my early 20s,) and we were rather drunk. :p When the clock hit midnight, we went running around kissing any girl we could get hold of (and the girls were doing the same with the lads! :D )

My pal took a few pics, and got the film developed some weeks later. I got a copy of about a dozen of them. Me and 5 or 6 of my pals and around 15 different girls were on all the pics. Some we knew, some we didn't.

After a few weeks, I put the pics in a shoebox with a bunch of other stuff, and popped it in the bottom of the wardrobe.

Fast forward just over a year, I was in the pub with 2 of my friends, and we met 3 girls and all got chatting. We hooked up the following week, and I carried on seeing the girl I had hooked up with, and long story short, we stuck together, got wed, bought a house together, and had 3 children.

10 years on, I unearthed this box out of the attic, (when we decided to have a clearout,) and this shoebox fell out of the attic and everything came tumbling out. The 12 pics were there, with the pics of me and my pals and all these girls from 10 + years ago. Lo and behold, one of the girls, (that I was seen on one picture kissing and on another one with 3 other girls,) was my WIFE. :rotfl:

So even though I thought the night I met her (when me and my 2 pals hooked up with 2 of her pals,) was the first night we met; we actually met around 13 months earlier and actually KISSED! We didn't know it, and we didn't remember each other.

    Weird! :)
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:

    This thread got me thinking.
quite a few years ago now OH and I were on holiday in the Gambia , I think.
Went on excursion and there were 2 guys on it. Said hi to each other and I think that was about it.
Fast forward 5 years (I think) and we were either in India or Thailand-I think the later.
Went on an excursion, there were 2 guys on it. You've guessed it ,the same 2.
I thought they looked vaguely familiar, They recognised me straight off. I must have that sort of face!!!!
None of us could get over it.
Followed up by about 10 years ago I went to give blood. Went to get the drink afterwards . The lady who served me recognised me straight away. She used to be my brown owl.
So when I was about 10 ,I looked 50+, or at 50+ I looked very very young. I think I will go with the latter.

I was born in a nursing home in Wimbledon in 1949 and in 1957 we moved to North Cheam in Surrey. I started a new school and the girl who was assigned to look after me had a fairly unusual name. When I told my Mum she told me that the lady in the next bed to her in the nursing home had had a daughter with that name. You've guessed it, my friend & I were born on subsequent days in the same place and she now lived in the next road to me about 10 miles from where we had been born!

When I was first married, we lived in the attic rooms in a large house in Wimbledon owned by an elderly French lady. My grandmother had travelled from her home in Canada for my wedding and one day when she was visiting my flat she got talking to the landlady. She asked where in Canada my grandmother lived & was surprised when it was the same town where the landlady's son was a surgeon in the local hospital. It turned out that he had operated on my grandmother a couple of years before!

One of my great aunts in London had a best friend that she had known since they both started school on the same day some 80 years ago. This friend had a pen friend in Canada who she had been writing to since the 1930s. My aunt was on holiday over here from Canada about 30 years ago and we went to my great aunt's birthday party and Canadian Aunt and the best friend started chatting. It turned out that the best friend's penfriend was my aunt's sister-in-law!

My mum is a carer. The neighbour of the man she cares for, is a relative of mums. They spoke for years without realising!

    My favourite little coincidence.

There used to be a small book sales site called Green Metropolis, and my cousin's daughter bought a book from me

It'd be a big enough coincidence if it'd been eBay, but Green Met was tiny in comparison.

In the late 70s we were on holiday on the Norfolk Broads, with our 2 young boys. Our boys made friends with 2 other boys, while talking to their parents, we found out they used to live 2 streets away from us. They used to live in the house that my sister in law was living in.

2011, we were on a Caribbean cruise. A Scottish couple asked if they could share our table. While chatting, we found out they were landowners, who held shoots.Told us about a family from the same county as us,who used to go to said shoots. Turned out the family were brothers to my ex sister in law.
