Norton Security due for renewal

I have had different security over the years on my desktop .
3 Years ago my family bought me this HP Pavilion g6 laptop. The package came with a 1 year Norton security. I renewed that the following 2 years but is now due for renewal once more. The previous time I got 18 months cover for 3 appliances for the cost of 12 months.
I have had issues and had to call them. The person was very helpful. I allowed them remote assistance to resolve the problems which they did. Norton now seem to be offering a package for 1 year for 1 computer or 1 year for 5 appliances. I have this laptop and a desktop that I very seldom actually use.
Because Norton have assisted should I stay with what I know.
Any idea if I can get a deal which better meets my needs ie 2 appliances. Thanks Sue

Thank you. I bank with Santander so don't have that perk. Mind you I do get 3% interest on my current account
Thanks again Sue0 -
Norton is pants, always has been. I have used Bitdefender Total security for 3 years, a 3-PC license covering family computers. If I go on a "hookey" website it stops anything dangerous and tells me about it. I back that up with Malwarebytes Pro and have had no malware for 3 years, although I get notice that malware has been blocked and killed.
I always buy Bitdefender as a disc package from Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00M1PU7MS?qid=1438444983&ref_=sr_1_1&s=software&sr=1-1
This works out cheaper than a download, as after the download it costs extra to buy the disc package.
After installation, I always create a Rescue Disc.
Before installing any new AV, make sure you uninstall the old one, using Norton's own Tool: -
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/uk/home/current/solutions/v60392881_EndUserProfile_en_us
All Norton products are notoriously difficult to uninstall, without this tool.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Thanks for the information. I have clicked on your link to Amazon and see that 1 year for 3 appliances is £24. Cheaper than the Norton at £39 99 for 1 year to cover 5 applicances as I have just got 2.
Thanks again. Thanks again will see how it goes.

You can get Kaspersky Internet Security Suite for 5 PCs for about £24 if you look hard, and it's very effective and well-recommended - so consider that as well0

Thanks for the information Will check that out also.

Is this Norton 2.0 different from the 360 that I have at the moment.
Norton will over me 360 for 3 products for 1 year at £29 99. I have not accepted this at the moment . They say that they are not allowed to sell the product at a lower price. They also state that if I buy it elsewhere I might not have an authenicated key. They say I may have problems with it. I am a bit scared of trying to remove the Norton and buy a different product. I am not that computer literate as I am a senior .

Do a search for how to remove Norton - there should be plenty of info out there.
Might just be a case of opening the Windows Control Panel from the Start Menu (if you have it!), finding the "Programmes and Features" menu, let it list all the installed programmes, highlight Norton and RIGHT click to bring up the option to Uninstall. Click on that and it should remove Norton and inform when it has done that.
Then install the security suite of your choice (as I said, I use Kaspersky but BitDefender and others are also good) - but before you do that then maybe look for info on what to do/not to do to install it.
PS: also a Senior, but been around Windows for a long time although I would not claim to be an "expert"!0 -
For the last couple of years I have used the Free version of Avast which seems to work quite well. I originally had Norton and had no difficulty in deleting it from my computer. I occasionally also run Malware bytes (which is also free) just to see if Avast has missed anything.
After all this site is trying to promote money saving and I take this very seriously.Trying to learn something new every day.
