If the cyclist had stayed in the cycling lane at the pinch point, the car would have been able to pass safely.

You can't overtake a cyclist safely at a pinch point.......... If you'd ever been a cyclist in that situation, you'd know that.

The lifesaver check is to benefit himself. The car looks to have beeped to let the cyclist aware of his presence as presumable if the cyclist had known the car was there, they wouldn't have pulled out in front of hit.

Come on, seriously we all know that's not why the driver used the horn.

The cyclist did a lot wrong, but the driver shouldn't have done what he/she did.

You certainly can when there's a clearly marked cycle lane, it terminates just after the traffic island.

The whole situation was caused by the cyclist moving out of the marked cycle lane adjacent to the "pinch point"

I think it is only you who, it appears, can read the mind of a completely anonymous stranger that knows this.

Use of the horn in that situation was valid. Cyclist changes lane without checking or indicating

I am a cyclist and i'm in similar situations often.

It depends on how wide the pinch point is.
After watching the video at around the 35-37s marker you can see a huge truck go through the pinch point with some room left over on the left.
If the cyclist stays in their lane at this pinch point there would be enough room for a much narrower car (vs the lorry) to pass whilst giving ample room.

Seems justified to me. You either toot your horn due to annoyance or to let other road users know you're there. You "shouldn't" do it for the former, but then you shouldn't pull out and overtake without checking it's clear to do so either. Or stick the fingers up at people behind you. Even more so when you have poor balance.

In comparison to a car or a bicycle a truck is huge, no?
Or should be extra pedantic and say medium sized truck?

Perhaps i should PM you any posts i'm about to put up so you can proof read them for me and point out any problems with the semantics.

It can be driven on a car licence so it's not even medium size.
