Well done! Are you going to add up all the money you save? That would be a real eye opener...
Yesterday was Weetabix and a banana.Today will be yogurt, banana and some wheatgerm.0 -

I'm a little late but buying lunch (and even breakfast) at work, or out and about, five days a week is one of the main drains on my finances. I could definitely do with some inspiration and a kick up the bum from this challenge!
There are 14 more work days this month and I'd like to take my lunch in 10 times. Next month I might try and cut back on breakfast too... but baby steps!
Hello Belle, welcome aboardWhen i first started doing this challenge, i was spending £50 a WEEK on lunches and breakfasts at/on the way to work. Good luck, I'll add you now

Leaving your cards at home/going out just with cash is a great idea too.The list goes on and on....
It's true though. It's so easy nowadays to fritter money away.
ETA sorry WTBSE,barging in here.
No worries Marmite, anything that helps people to save money is a good thing0 -
Add to here
Forgot to say what i had for lunch, oops! I reheated some vegan shepherds pie that i had for dinner last night. It is so nice! I really fancied some crusty bread to mop up the juices with, but i hadnt made any and am trying not to buy any bread products apart from the normal loaves.
So going to make my own rolls, pizza bases etc from now on
Marmite, i might actually join the NSD challenge too.0 -

You're more than welcome WTBSE!
I've got a breadmaker,which is super.It frees you up so much time.I use it a lot.0 -
Thanks WTBSE! I'm honestly probably not far off £50 a week - some places are just so expensive and when you add up all the cans of Diet Coke or sweets then I'm sure it's eye watering!
Marmite, I love that idea. Even if I said a conservative £5 saved per day I take in lunch, I think I would have a hefty figure at the end of a full month. I bet I don't even spend more on groceries as I used to always have to chuck out tons of stuff every week.
Oh boy, I definitely need the MSE practise!!
Today was a little bit of a cheat as my boss took our team out for lunch and it was planned so I knew I wouldn't need one. Did buy breakfast though, boo. But for lunch I'm now 2/10 for August!0 -

At the same time,if you do too much, cutting breakfast and lunch at the same time, you might find it too tough, and be discouraged.Baby steps like you say,are sometimes the best way,as you don't feel overwhelmed.0 -
Finally I got round to making a loaf,so it's bread or toast today with a black banana and honey or marmite and maybe a hard boiled egg with black pepper and grainy mustard.0
-
I'd like to join this for the remainder of the month, as I get really lazy with lunches and usually buy a £3.29 meal deal instead of taking the time to put something together in the morning.
Including today, I've got 12 working days left this month, and I'd like to bring lunch from home at least 10 of those days.
Today's lunch was a tuna salad, which wasn't particularly exciting. 1/10
Going to make a big tray of roast vegetables for dinner tonight, so I'm hoping for lovely leftover veg tomorrow lunchtime.Debt paid off: £8,343 / £15,000 (56%)0 -
Yogurt, banana and wheatgerm and maybe a hard boiled egg and mustard...not all together.0

Welcome Time trade, i have added you
Good plan for the roast veggies!
Nice sounding LTW Marmite, i have never had wheatgerm before. Is it nice?
My LTW today was bread and hummus. I know it sounds boring, but i really fancied it. I had it for dinner last night too! I just warmed up a part-bake baguette and spoon loads of hummus on top of it. Yummy!!0
