Gas and water wrong way round

How is this possible? Who is your water company and gas supplier? Haven't either of them read the meters themselves over the past 4 years?0

Nobody has been out for energy. Water do come out and is accurate.
Not sure what to do?0 -
If you have a water meter, ....., and read by your water company at least once every two years.

and gas once every two years
Therefore don't worry and just send them the correct readingsDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -
The dual fuel of £60 PM is very low .
Update your meter readings and the bill/ DD should be adjusted .0 -
If your water readings were incorrect then how come the billing is accurate? They must have been ignoring your own readings. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Not many water meters around now which need the occupiers to read them. They ve nearly all got the "dongle " fitted to transmit the reads outside to the man in the van.Is this a wind up ! who can mix a tiny water meter for a gas meter and have the intelligence to ask a question on an energy forum about it ?0

Its not a legal requirement or I would be doing thousands of them every week. The wording , I think OFGEM specify is to "attempt " to read them once every 2 years..BG have got exemption in the two year rule and can go 5 years if they wish. They dont normally tho As I m checking prepayment meters on a one year basis.I also work for Scot Power and EDF who appear to totally ignore the two year rule altogether. We do precious few of EDF/Scot Power must inspects.Only BG act properly in this OFGEM rule of conditions of supply. It costs money to get into premises who either won t allow inspections or are rarely inSkools_Out wrote: »In your OP you said specifically gas.
Gas meters have to have a safety inspection at least every 2 years.0 -

In this part of the world, the water meters are mostly manual -in fact I don't know anyone with a remote reading meter!:)0 -
Nowadays every visit by the various waterboard meter readers they fit the smart water meter and never visit again.Takes 2 and a half minutes flat to fit. They know it makes sense ..all over the UK.Would be stupid to be endlessly driving around wasting man hours and diesel knocking on doors at all hours.brewerdave wrote: »In this part of the world, the water meters are mostly manual -in fact I don't know anyone with a remote reading meter!:)0
