I used to work for the Thresher group and this was just one of many good customer services; but few people ever took advantage of it. The left wine is poured down the drain and the label kept to proove it has been destroyed and not resold or drunk (but then who would want to drink stale wine:pjulybride

I was paying Sky £36 a month for the benefit of watching sport but wasn't using most of the other channels paid for within the total package. To buy the sport you have to have a an entertainment package first. I played the 'I want to cancel my subscription' card and stuck to my guns. The result was an ever improving offer and I just kept going until finally I cancelled the sport and negotiated £0.75 per month for 12 months for two entertainment packages of the most interesting and watchable channels. I also get the usual promo offers like the monthly magazine and free movies that are offered regularly in the hope that you'll buy more. I got what I wanted out of the deal and Sky get to keep their customer retention KPIs on track. I'll go head to head next year and no doubt cut another deal but if not then the loss of the package is no big deal with free channels available.0

Did you know that if your food takes more than 3 minutes to arrive @ McDonalds you can ask for your money back and keep the food? I do it nearly every time I order. Someone told me who worked there ages ago, I've been doing it for years and they always cough up.
Simply place your order and if it takes more that 3 mins take your food and then ask for your money. Veggie option WILL ALWAYS take more than 3 mins cause they have to cook them fresh. As a "Fast Food" restaurant the food must be delivered in 3 mins to be considered "fast".

Hi all, based on some of the posts here - we have a camcorder that we bought from Panasonic in December 2003 and it has developed an internal fault which is very annoying as we rarely use it and it cost over £400. Panasonic store charged us £50 for a quotation for repair and have now come back saying £250 for repair.
Do we have any recourse on this with Panasonic? Any insider knowledge would be gratefully received as we can't really afford to buy a new one right now.
Thanks for any help you can give

I may be wrong, but I think this is only the case if the goods are going to be taken abroad BEFORE being used for the first time, i.e. they still have to be sealed in their original packaging when they leave the country.
Also not sure if this applies within the EU.0 -
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, so apologies if I'm repeating stuff. I used to work for Asda and there are loads of things they can (!) do for customers, but you usually have to ask.
For example, they have (or had when I worked there) Smiley Face vouchers, which were worth up to 99p and covered any customer that didn't quite have enough to pay for their shopping (short of cash/change etc) which can be used at the cashier's discretion.
On Customer Services, they can refund you the item if you complain about it in any way, they should give you the item (or a replacement) free as well, and they can give you up to £5 on a Gift Card if you've had something horrible, like food turning out to be rotten, (not usually for simple price-errors though). This is at the discretion of the person on the CS desk.
Also, they offer things like :lending you a pound for the trolleys if you don't have one, rather than changing a note (they had a big pot of pound coins where I used to work, and if some don't come back, the store carries the loss), and they have nappies behind the CS desk for anyone caught short.
Hope this is interesting to Asda shoppers!
xx

James_Bond wrote:I've heard that various "GAME" and other similar shops can sell pre-owned games for whatever they want aslong as they make at least 40% profit. So if more than 40% profit is made, the workers get a share. So I guess it's worth haggling in these types of shops, although I'm haven't tried it myself.
I know that definately isn't the case for GAME although I can't say the same for other shops of the same type. Game never give the workers anything other than a discount on certain items instore.0
