wedding car or walk?

I'd definitely walk but keep an eye on the forecast and have a Plan B (like a taxi or a friend's car) as back up.
When I see a bridal party in the street (often happens in the historic part of our city where the Register Office is) I think it looks really romantic. We all enjoy a bit of people watching and that's the best sort!
Great idea and very mse:money:.
ETA: you haven't said about the reception. Will you be able to walk there?0 -
After our wedding, new hubby and I got home (reception venue was the back garden) ages before everyone else, so we walked down the road to the pub. Best fun of the whole day. Our 'bridesmaid' came with us and also loved all the fuss. We tied a ribbon round her collar to mark the occasion, and anyway, she was desperate for a walk.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

I wanted to walk to my wedding but everyone insisted we got a car, the fil paid so I wasn't bothered about not getting my way, it absolutely lashed it down all day however, so I was happy to arrive in a jag than a clapped out vauxhall zafira that all the taxi drivers round here seem to drive .
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

I got married in one place and the reception was a 5 min walk. I would have been in a vehicle for 2 mins (if that). We all walked.
It was along a promenade as the reception was in a cafe on the beach and so was a nice walk along, not that it makes a difference what the view is like ha ha ha haForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
When my cousin married, the whole mob of us walked to the reception. Downhill, which made pushchairs tricky, but seeing a wedding horde certainly caught the attention of those around & there were a lot of cheerful greetings & calls of encouragement & blessing. Our stuffier relatives tried to look both supportive & unaware, and us younglings smiled waved and tried to call thank you back!
So, wedding flats & a brolly or six, but still loads more fun & more MS than a car. Unless you can borrow an elephant?0 -
I think your neighbours would find it charming, and enjoy seeing you if they are home.
I didn't wear a traditional wedding dress, but a somewhat relaxed evening dress I already owned, and we got married at a registry office, parked at the local multistory, and were running a little late, so had to cut through the supermarket. All before ten am.
. People looked somewhat confused but it all made us giggle. 0 -
Strangely we have seen Chinese couples in full wedding dress that last three times we have driven through central London, it must be the in thing to do lol! 9mind you they are posing at Big Ben or on one of the bridges etc etc.0

I really, really love the idea of walking to the wedding! It sounds like such a cool and romantic thing to do. After all, what did they do before cars were invented!?
I want to walk to my church when (or if- sore point) I ever get married. My local church is about a mile away though and there are no pavements or footpaths and it's a fairly narrow but quite busy road. I do know someone who drives a pony and trap though.... I'm hoping I can get my favourite horse used to a cart so he can pull me but at this rate he'll be dead by the time it happens.0
