Homebase Tesco mattresses

Does anyone know if there is a way to figure out the firmness of the mattresses. additionally how is it possible to compare prices when each supplier holds a different model of the brand...
In the market for a new super kingsize divan bed with storage drawers. Budget is around £1000 and would like a pocket spring, gel or latex top to regulate temperature as I like it cold, Mrs likes it toastie.
We were originally going to go for a pillowtop for added "comfiness", but we're put off with many reviews auggwsting then all end up sagging.
Homebase has 25% off £500 plus spend which ends tomorrow night but without lying on any of the mattresses how do you know if they are soft, medium or firm??
Same goes for Tescos. They have silentnight one in particular and its down to £800 from over £2k again but a massive risk buying a mattress you haven't tested?
Should I just pay more and buy from Bensons and get one we can test?
Or go to one of the smaller local bed supplying retailers in my town and buy a lesser known brand like Durabed or Healthopeadic with little or no warranty?
Arg I had no idea this would be so difficult.
And getting a headboard to match and the added cost...
OMG!!

Silentnight mattress for 2k, Never 2k is a made up price, it's never ever been sold at that price.
Firmness is so subjective so yes go into a local store and buy a bed you can try, Durabed and Healthopeadic will come with at least 12 month guarantee.
Even the 5 and 10 year guarantees come with strict conditions.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

It's just a "RRP" so I don't think they do actually have to ever have sold it for that.
Anyway - I would recommend latex rather than memory foam (hot) or geltex (cold). It's probably a happy medium temperature wise.
Maybe the Sealy Casoli if you're looking for a 1200 sprung one with latex foam. You can get it with a 4 drawer divan base for about £950.
Oh and for the record there's nothing wrong with Durabeds or Healthopedic (made by Highgate) - they're both made near by and so a lot of people have them around here.Hi. Pocket sprung for sure yes. The Sealy Casoli looks good. I will give that a look.
Does appear to be available in any of the stores near me though in Glasgow.0 -
Most sales are nonsense. Anything that says 50%+ off is nonsense, could you go to work and survive on 50% of your salary.
The sale bit is when it's 50%+10% off, the 10% is the sale. But even then, chances are, it's still made up. It's giving the customer a reason to buy.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
