It's an moneysaving forum. It doesn't seem unreasonable for the OP to ask if there's anywhere free to park to save money on parking charges.

Unrestricted spaces are there for the general public, if there's a problem then it's up to residents to lobby the council for a residents' parking scheme.

Try parking in the towns around Heathrow, Gatwick etc. You will find the same sort of restrictions.

There's free parking within a ten minute walk of Gatwick North, and shed loads within 15 minutes on the bus or train.

    why not?
insurance forbid you to park your car elsewhere than outside of your house?

also, I paid for taxi £15 from Bishops to Stansted, can you tell me please if it is a good price or I was ripped off?

It's not money wasted if you got the job.

I don't know what the minicab prices are like around there as there will be some regional variation. Assuming 5-6 miles it would be around £8.50 with the cheapest firms in the Gatwick area. So what you've paid might be a bit steep but not outlandish. If you used a hackney then it seems quite reasonable. Maybe someone who knows the Stanstead area can point you in the direction of a cheap firm there.
