Probably to stop people dumping there car on a street for a week or two while they fly out of Stansted on their holidays.

yes that was my intention
and they force us to pay £100 for parking?
very nice....0 -
You are not forced to pay £100. You can use alternate transport to get there
I'm surprised (not really) that you think it's fine to abandon your car in a local town when you go on holiday.
I'm sure you can just park it where you want in Bishops Stortford. The police are very accommodating and will move your car to a secure compound until you want to pick it up. Unfortunately they charge about £150 plus about £50 per day. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
when there is no restriction in parking, I am free to park
I am extremely surprised (not really) that you find that not acceptable
is it ok for the local town to take advantage of the proximity of the airport making tons of money and jobs, while it's NOT ok to deal with the negative impacts of that, one of which is the increased mobility and parking usage?0 -

Where do you live? I'll park outside your house while I do something for a week or so....
Would that be acceptable to you?
Thought not...0
