Thanks ABA, I swing from one extreme to the other in terms of life as well as debt repayments, some months I hole myself up and guilt trip myself for spending a penny and other months I embrace that I have budgets set for a life outside if debt repayments and spend every penny I've budgeted. It's al or nothing for me...
That said I am really trying to look forward to life after debt, and realise that I could have fairly decent savings for mat leave if my dates all line up as I'm hoping just from saving my budgeted repayments and keeping up with a life
A happy medium is probably best for the soul, but I think it really depends day by day, or month by month in my case - whatever works for you is best:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I've woken up feeling like death warmed up today - everytime I move quickly I go dizzy, not great especially when I needed a wee first thing this morning and ended up falling over my own feet
I'm having a real feel sorry for myself day!
Just had a call from work too (no such thing as off sick according to my boss) who says I've submitted the timesheets for my colleagues incorrectly and there is uproar because they've been underpaid - I know I did the sheet correctly so now I am worried that I've sent the wring details to payrollwhy do these things always go wrong when I'm not there to fix them!
I'm going in this afternoon which I don't really feel up to doing, just because I want this sorting - fingers crossed I haven't messed up too badly and it's fixable!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi all
I'm feeling slightly better but still nowhere near where I should be, I'm so dizzy and out of it - even walking up the stairs requires a sit down afterwards
I have some good debt busting news though! I have been accepted for a 20 month interest free money transfer card so I've transferred £3000 to my bank and paid it straight off the natwest loan - the interest rate is 21.9% so anything I can overpay really helps, does mean that I have £120 of extra fees and £120 of overpayment interest charges but I'm still a lot better offit's knocked a month off of my debt free date!!
Not so good news....I've been off work for 2.5 days and I don't get sick pay. It's really stressing me out but I know I'm not fit to be there. Whatever happens I have to go back tomorrow - I can use the secret emergency fund to cover the time I've been off so far which isn't ideal, but I can't afford an extra day.
OHs friend is here and all is ok for now, no major problems so far although he only arrived on Tuesday haha. OH is like a kid in a candy shop having a friend here, so they've spent a lot of time together although always invite me to join them - I want them to have time by themselves anyway but also I'm really not feeling up to socialising so take myself off to bed while they catch up.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi Kirsty
I'm back and getting caught up with stuff. Sorry to hear that you're ill - I have had sinusitis so completely sympathise. It completely knocks you off your feet.
With regards to being off work, if you're ill then you're ill. It's that simple - you need to look after yourself and get better first. As you know, my DH had 6 months off, was back for a few weeks and is now in the process of another 6 weeks off with his broken leg. No, it's not ideal by any stretch but we have managed. Same for you. You're doing so brilliantly getting the debt paid down - I'm sure you can manage a week or two of being off ill.Not giving up

Thanks ccl, I still feel rough to be honest, albeit better than last week. I didn't help myself over the weekend though, I was so sick of being cooped up I went out with OH and his best friend on Saturday and ended up playing pool until 6am, which completely wiped me out for the rest of the day. I'm too old and ill for escapades like that anymore :rotfl:
I went back to work on Friday as the worry over money was making me feel worse than the sinusitis. My boss asked me to work on Saturday to catch up (with the added bonus that it also means I earned a days pay back) so at least it's not as bad as it looked last week.
I'm debating staying at my parents for a few days this week as I'm struggling to adjust to having someone else in the house, and I don't think OH and I having a bit of time apart is a bad thing.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I think that might be a good idea. A bit of time apart sometimes is just the ticket to get a change and a rest. Not giving up

Just had a look at my snowball and it seems that I should be below 10K by the end of September :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
So excited, and got a 75% off final value fees from ebay this morning so I'm going to get listing again to try and make more extra payments:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I have been massively slacking with my diary of late - nothing too exciting going on and I feel my enthusiasm waning a bit.
Not for debt busting per se, as I'm heading in the right direction with my figures and my Natwest loan has less than £2.5K on which is my only interest bearing debt at the moment...although that will change in Feb when one of my CC interest free terms runs out. I'm pretty much just aiming to get as much paid down as possible before then in the hope of getting another 0% deal, either in my name or OHs.
House is coming along slowly. OHs best friend has settled in well although there have been a few issues with his BRP - they've put his old passport number on it so he hasn't been able to collect it. To look for work he needs his NI, to get his NI he has to send his BRP....you get the picture!!
OHs parents arrive in less than 2 weeks so we have repainted the bathroom and bought the paint for the kitchen which I am planning to do this weekend. He also has 2 friends who are over from NZ coming to see us tomorrow just for the night...it's like kiwi central at our house at the moment!
OH is 29 on Saturday and I'm feeling like he will be disappointed with his presents as he has 'needed' practical stuff which will be useful around the house rather than 'wish for' presents. A sign of getting older I think!
My sister is having a 4D scan this week which I've been invited along to so I'm really looking forward to that
Work is absolutely horrendous and this morning I seriously considered calling the other job people and begging them to re-offer it to me. I think I've made the right choice in the long run, but right now I am very close to breaking point - my right hand woman is on hol, accounts lady on hol, MD on hol and my admin lady handed her 1 weeks notice in on Friday and I can't get a replacement in time for any handover....
I think that's all that's been going on with me. Hope everyone is well!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Well it seems that I am rubbish at updating here again!!
Managed to sort another interest free transfer so the Natwest loan only has £620.00 left to pay - this will definitely be gone by the end of August (although I'm secretly hoping for many many ebay sales to get it paid by the middle of August, leaving Augusts pay to start my next snowball venture)
Managed to put up our headboard last night, )had a bit of an energetic moment at midnight ) which had been languishing in the bedroom since it's arrival last week after noticing we had neglected to buy headboard screws....£5.00 in the local shop and only 99p delivered from the bay of E so you can guess why it hasn't gone up until now
OH had a lovely birthday and has been using his new drill to put pictures up for me and so the lounge now looks finished :T
We had a few friends round on Saturday for a mini BBQ to celebrate OHs birthday and they had bought him one of those keter beer cooler table things which were all over facebook a few weeks ago....he is so excited by it :rotfl:
My sisters 4D scan was beautiful, although they had asked not to find out the gender as they wanted a surprise. Got a DVD, took it home and when they watched it (together luckily) it had the gender written on the scan! My sister was distraught as she really hadn't wanted to know (they have had a scratchcard with the gender on for a few weeks and not been tempted to scratch it so it caused a rather large tantrum from her. Understandably I think)
Anyway, I'm *usually* right with babies and I've said it was a girl from the start.....we will indeed be welcoming a niece in 8 weeks :j:grinheart: a good job really as I've started a baby basket which I had only bought pink things for
OHs parents are now only 5 days from landing and I'm desperately trying to get things done - lino being laid in the bathroom on Friday, tumble dryer hopefully being fixed today after it blew up last week
Not helped by the fact our original car isn't working - battery light came on so we called a company out to replace the battery as otherwise OH can't get to work (he isn't insured on the car my Mom gave us) and it worked for about 15 minutes then the battery light came on so apparently we are probably looking at the alternator. Luckily a guy I work with deals with cars so he will replace for us for £60 and the alternator itself I found on eurocarparts with TCB and a vouchercode for 19% off so a total if £200 fitted....there's that secret emergency fund almost depleted
Also means OH has been having to get the train to work - £7.50 a day return and me dropping him off every morning is having an impact on our joint account...not to mention that OHs best friend isn't paying us any board at the moment so our just about manageable for 2 food budget is having to be stretched for 3, which really isn't working so all in all not a good money month.
We have set aside some money to take OHs and my parents to our favourite restaurant next week as a thank you for all they have done/continue to do for us which we are desperately trying not to dip into.
Luckily I noticed yesterday that the TCB we got for booking our hotel for Morocco and our house insurance TCB is payable - just under £200 on it's way to the joint account which will ease the rest of the month but I'm frustrated that I can't put it towards mortgage overpayments like I had planned
Have replaced my admin lady but it takes approx 6 months to train someone into the position so at the moment it's more of a hindrance than a help
I feel like all I have done is moan recently, hence not updating as I didn't feel like I had anything positive to say really.
There is some good news though - we had a relate session on Monday and I really feel like we are starting to get somewhere. OH has said that he wants to change his phone number as a fresh start and he actually understood where I was coming from with some things. It helps to have a mediator there at the moment. She has also given us some coping mechanisms when we feel the need to talk so it doesn't turn into confrontation but instead we can talk properly, including code words when something is a problem, fingers crossed:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I cant believe they did that with the scan how thoughtless. I would have been upset to find out that way having not wanted to know." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
