Thanks all. Going to cancel, and see what happens.

    Weird.
I am stuck in a Virgin cable contract,

Are you under contract or not?

Virgin is cheaper than BT for broadband - if you dont need a phone line. IMHO 2mps will not be enough for streaming.

Again. Are you under contract or not?
If you are under contract then why would they drop the price?

START by finding out your contract details .

If you are out of contract then 30 days notice is required .

Otherwise you will pay your remaining months left on the contract if you cancel .

You cannot give notice if you are in contract without paying off the remaining months .

Dropping from VM is going to give you a vastly inferior service .

    So basically this;
I am stuck in a Virgin cable contract

Is utterly wrong. You have the choice of any ISP supplying your area.

VM is only 28.50 for broadband isnt that cheaper than BT broadband + phoneline and you will get a much much faster service.

You price up the service you want .
Phone Calls + Line Rental + Broadband + TV .
    Ignore any limited offers .
Read the VM retentions thread .
Ask to leave VM and tell them the offer you have .
They may match it or not .
If they know the areas BT speed is poor then they may make no offer .

BT Line rental £16-99 a months
Evening and weekend calls about £3 pm.
Broadband see current very soon to end BT offers from £8 pm
