This is a different question, especially as we don't know any details.
Deals for locked devices are very common at HUKD, e.g. EE Osprey Mobile WiFi + 6GB Data £29.99 @ CPW0 -

If you mean it's tied to a certain network (eg. 3), then bunging in a different company's sim isn't going to work.
Are you sure it's locked?
yes as it was a 2 year old mifi brought from a 3 store , presumably there is more then 1 meaning but i ment the same as mobiles0 -
Depends on the model, but usually often as simple as sending the IMEI to the network (or a 3rd party ebay seller) and getting a code.
When you put another networks SIM card in it will ask for the subsidy code, enter that and if its right it unlocks.
To that extent its the same as a mobile, but you may need to log on to the device to enter the code via a we browser.
Some may have their firmware customised and not offer the normal vendor menus but its more or less the same process.
What make/model is it? And some Three Devices now come unlocked you may want to try a different network sim card before buying an unlock code.0 -

depends on what model you buy, for instance the little E5330 mifi's sell in argos on EE for £19.99 at the moment, direct from three for instance they are £49.99, you can unlock it for 99p so about a £29 saving, not much, but over half the price, and for little effort you have a mifi that you can use on any network anywhere.0 -

Told him about this ages ago...but he decided to ignore the advice and to pay over the top for an 'unlocked' MiFi.
Instead of picking up a 4G Osprey for £20 and unlocking it for £1, he went for a three year old 'unlocked' 3G Huawei 5331 for £40.
He must have forgotten on which forum he posed the question. Then threatened to put me on ignore because I tried to help him.
Remember this thread? I do Limited himself to 3G and paid double the price for the limitation.0
