Voicemail icon on Samsung S3

I've recently got a Samsung S3, just figured out how to retrieve answerphone messages :o however, the reason I didn't realise I had answerphone message was because I don't know what the answerphone icon is.

On a previous mobile, missed calls indicated I had an answerphone message, why doesn't the S3 do the same, or, is there an answerphone icon on the home screen I'm not aware of?

It would appear to be on the pull down notification menu.

But you could be a lot younger than many of the knowledgeable guys and gals on here . Age has nothing to do with it .

Do you have a spool symbol on your home screen?

If you have the spool symbol, that means that someone has left you a voicemail.
Go to your dial pad and long press button 1, this should dial your voicemail service.

    Try 1 as Tony suggests.

If that doesn't work, then Google your network's voicemail number - it's usually something like 123, 121 or 901
