I reset the data on my phone at the beginning of my billing period

and it shows ive used 3.4gb , Vodafone saying ive used 4gb (less 30mb)

In addition when I noticed that data was running low I turned it off, Vodafone showed I had 44mb left, and the time stamp was after I had turned it off, get up this morning an an additional 14mb used!!

any explanation for this?

Is the VF data realtime or is there a time lag between usage and their calculator catching up?

It gives you time on the data

yesterday it said as of 12.58 I had 44mb left, Data was turned off before then I think, im not 100% sure on that part,

what am sure of however is my bill runs from 2nd of the month and I reset my data that morning, there is a over 500mb difference between their log and my phones

This is a guess, but if your phone is just recording actual data and vodafone is recording data plus overhead packets it would explain the difference.

I wouldn't be surprised, several times as they said £0.25p call to their 191 number wiped my call credit clean and in to their IOU ( another £0.45p charge) until I deployed screen recorder, shame I didn't have no oputrunity to submit the evidence, as after chatting to monkeys online and disclosing having it all documented, next time I called (and warned and recorded) they complied and given me PAC number....

Mobile data was on yes, but I was asleep and would have been connected to WIFI, I couldn't have used 500mb in that space of time while not using the phone.

I reset my phone at 8am on the morning of 2nd of july, their system rest at midnight, so 8 hours gap they are saying that's the reason for the difference in what the phone has recorded,
  • I had an issue last month with Vodafone data. Ultimately I was told by the lovely folks at Vodafone that the only way to accurately know how much data you have used and to make sure you don't go over is to phone them on 121 (and wait for ages on hold) to check. Yes, they told me that I should call every time I am going to use data to check.

I fount the my Vodafone app to be inaccurate and there website can take ages to update. I am leaving Vodafone as soon as I can afford. They are an atrocious company.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Perhaps but apps are set to only update on wifi, hasn't been a spike in data use overnight any other time and would be some fluke to happen just at that point, ie start of month, can't do anything this month but will have to reset at midnight in future
