Following a competition win last year we have been to Clowance twice this year, Lanzarote in June, and will be having 5 days at Whitbarrow and 5 days at Laugharne in November, on top of that they have offered another free break in Bath before February. We have now paid next years maintenance fee for our one bed week and have a third of it for a two bed week in Majorca. We are very pleased with the holidays we have had so far with many more to come. We are more than satisfied with Seasons Holidays so far. I will say that I would not and will not buy a timeshare, but this is a holiday club and has so many other benefits.

    deewrigg,

Why have you resurrected a 6 month old thread?

If I recall correctly, you didn't have the curtesy to explain your sums in another thread about clubseasons on the forums when we showed how expensive this kind of timeshare/ holiday club is (£100k +). And that's before we debate how deceiving their marketing ploys are about "winning" a holiday you have to pay for are.

I still think Martin's advice about all these type of companies is best:
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!
From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!
  • Today we have been refunded with our £275 management fees from Seasons Holidays. We had a wonderful holiday but decided that since we are moving abroad in the next year it would not be the type of holiday we would want in the future.

We knew that it was timeshare before we went on the holiday to Whitbarrow in the Lake district as we had attended an introduction meeting at Brunston Castle, Girvan, another excellent resort. We had been timeshare owners in the past and knew about the system. At that meeting we stated that we probably would not want to remain members but were told that we may as well take the holiday first as we would be refunded if we were not happy in any way.

The main difference between being timeshare owners and members of Club Seasons is that you can cancel membership at any time, without penalty. In the first year you have a very fair fourteen days to cancel after you have had your holiday week.

I feel that anyone who has WON this prize would do well out of this as we have done. :T

Just received on of these registered letters to congratulate me on winning a £3750 holiday. Thank god for google and this site to confirm what I guessed was a timeshare. Will feed the letter to the shredder :exclamati
What a strange co-incidence those praising this company have only ever posted 1 post

OK I have posted more than once and I will defend Seasons here. The properties at Whitbarrow are expensive accomodation at the height of summer. Around £500 - £600 per week for anyone off the street. Some of you critics just try booking a hotel in and around Penrith today. I looked and the cost was almost £1000 for a week for 2 in an hotel room. At Seasons Whitbarrow the units are 2, 3 or 4 bedroom with full kitchens, the use of a Swimming pool and Gym, things which are not available at the hotels I saw. The idea behind this timeshare membership is you purchase a membership for 1 week at around £3750. As the property at your home resort needs maintaining there is an annual cost around £200. The membership can be cancelled at anytime you would of course loose your £3750 although I would see no reason why you couldn't sell it! Your home resort is not the only resort you can use there are 7 in the UK and 2 in Europe and Seasons are affiliated with Interval International. If you win one of these and want exceptional, better than hotel accomodation for £380 in the first year and £200 thereafter then go for it. After saying that as a member of Interval International I can purchase a week in March for £150 and in July at £600 for a 2 - 3 bedroom unit at Whitbarrow (UK Lake District) near Penrith.

mpython - if you dare ask me why I have ressurected this thread it's just to put you down mate - I have never heard a more negative person on these forums which is all about saving money - you do the sums - £380 for a seasons accomodation or almost a £1000 of a hotel!! that's a saving of £620 * 61 years = c£37k saving in a lifetime
