Hi handley,
Welcome to MSE, hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.
Could I just ask, what prompted you to write your post? You've already been so why did you visit MSE and make your first post about clubseasons and not, say, your bank, or mortgage, or holiday, or supermarket or favourite sports team?
Did you get the offer of a money back satisfaction guarantee? & if so, will you be taking it up?
Have a look around the rest of the forums, it could save you £1,000s.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Wow - does anyone else's eyesight or ears hurt?
Welcome to the forum clubseason, its great to have you here (so to speak). It'd be good if you can clear up a few point for me.
You say you help 75,000 customers - can you tell us how many have actually paid £3750 for their membership (or whatever rate/ name it was called before)? As far as I can make out from your post only 1,000 people have paid for membership, and then they've paid over £4,000, whereas you give it away to the other 74,000 and say its only worth £3,750. I wonder how those 1,000 customers feel.
How much does a typical customer spend with you over the lifetime of their membership?
Can you point us to some independent research about your customer's satisfaction? and some independent research into recipient's views of your 'free membership' offer?
Look forward to hearing from you. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Thanks for your reply clubseasons. I note that in just 2 posts you have shown how easily you mislead people.
In your first post you said you had 75,000 customers, in post 2 you say 25,000 customers.
In your first post you say membership fees of £4,000, whereas in your second post its from £3,750.
In your first post you said 'more than 1,000' whereas in your second post you have now said 1600 people purchased timeshares last year. You go on to say 1200 were given as prizes (I presume this isn't part of the 1600?).
You've still not answered my previous question which I'll re-phrase now - what do your customers who paid for membership think about all those customers who you've given it away free to?
How much does a typical customer spend with you over a lifetime of membership? Is it £50k? £150k or more?
I can't find any independent research on clubseasons on the website you mention, and indeed what data is there is 6 & 7 years old.
I can only conclude that Martin's advice about all holiday type scheme remains absolutely solid.Don't touch them any of them with a bargepole. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

 We received a recorded delivery notification - even got up early to collect the letter from the post office....it was a Clubseasons letter that reads:
"Congratulations!
I am delighted to confirm you have won a prize to the value of £3750, in this months daily Internet/Grand Prize Draw.
To authenticate your claim please call ...........within 7 days from the date of this letter, failure to do so will result in the loss of your prize.
Once again congratulations and we look forward to hearing from you"
This type of marketing should be banned.
Clubseasons - Nowhere in your letter is there any mention of timeshare or paying fees to claim a 'prize'. Your posts here have not changed my opinion in the least - your marketing tactics are highly questionable - we will not be contacting you!!!
Thank you to everyone else for your helpful posts.0 -
Hi i posted this elsewhere but found this thread too - sorry for posting twice but i am new to this and not sure where to post correctly - sorry!
Hi
Need some advice.
I entered a lot of competitions last week cos my car broke down and i could not do what i needed to do. So i won a CD which is really good, however today i have received a letter from this organization telling me i have won a membership for holidays until the year 2059 and all i have to do is pay £370 for the first year for the holiday i choose to take and £200 and something for each following year for the holiday i want.
This is for four people on a seven night basis. I did not think to ask if flights were included however when i phoned and asked to speak to the person named in previous posts i was assured that i had 'won' a membership.
Has anybody out there 'won' a membership before - and can anyone shed any light as to whether or not this is too good to be true - so to speak.
On the face of it - it looks ok however i have yet to see any paperwork, be asked to sign anything etc. etc. and on consulting my mother who i would describe as 'wise' her response is something i would probably have to think twice about printing on here !! Help please if you can. Thank you very much.:T :rotfl: Ha Ha ... I did it.... What can i put ???:rolleyes:0 -
Sue, welcome to the forum.
You are being invited to buy a timeshare, and pay £200 (which will grow by more than inflation every year) for maybe 70 years.
I'd just throw the paperwork in the bin. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

'Won' my holiday last year and had a week in Cornwall at a reduced rental rate. Really good accomodation for the four of us, good facilities and reasonable prices in the bar and restaurant, and the sales pitch was a gentle 60minutes, and no pressure. I decided to cancel for this year as the fee is now up to £367 but they have just rung me to say if I continue they will give me next year (2009) free!! I said ok and have got myself a week in Portugal later this year in October (not a bad week!). I am able to get a low cost airline from near home, so watch this space. Not so much a scam as a way of marketing, but I know next year it might be harder as I'm on their standard conditions. :beer:0

Hi beegee, welcome to MSE.
Can I ask why you decided to post on this thread as your very first post on MSE? Don't you have any questions on credit cards, or cars, or TVs, or tax? Also, did you get your money back as per their 'money back guarantee'? Have they re-decorated their Cornwall site, or added any better facilities for children? From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
