Well this is the reality of life. You need income.
Then with that you decide what you need/can do.
Whether its relocate, get a 2nd job or whatever.
We pay for breakfast club, holiday club & afterschool to allow flexibility for work.0 -

When your husband gets a new job, you will need to drop him off first thing at the nearest railway/bus station and pick him up again in the evening?
I can see that with two young children this may well be a pain and conflict with teatime/bath time but may be a necessity for a while?
Or if your husband has to have the car, is there another mother with a child going to kindergarten on the same days who could drop off and return your child?0 -

This,
it is a pain, but it is the only way forward. Pre school is very important for your child's development especially in rural settings. The disruption to normal routine will be worth it.
Good luck with the search0 -
As above, drop your husband off at the local rail or bus station each morning and pick him up again in the evening.
At nearly all remote stations you see a lot of family filled cars waiting for the working partner in the evenings, a friend of mine used to use to waiting time when the train was late to do the daily reading recommended by the school. I did it for a very short while until we moved, and just used to have the children in their pjs and a warm coat in winter and pop them Into bed when we got home.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin - I was really startled to see you posting on a Non-Ebay thread!! I thought MSE kept you locked away and chained to the Ebay boards at all times?
I realise it's totally irrelevant of course, but I'd be equally surprised to see one of the Arms bunch pop up in a serious discussion on House Prices!
Sorry for the interruption OP - I've got it out of my system now so please carry on....0 -

Surely if you could afford to run to cars when he was working, you'll be able to consider getting another one when he gets a job again. School before 5 is not compulsary. Surely you can see that him using the car to get to work (or taking him) is far more important than your child getting a few hours of nursery care in the short term?0
