Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Bossy for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up!
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Thanks Natty and Bossy for last week too.

    Welcome Dizzy

Weekend has past far to quickly, hours at various cricket grounds and clearing up in clubhouse kitchen. Food shop done for next few days whilst I'm at the paid stuff and kids are home.

Need to find carry over list but off the top of my head:

    Clean shower room
    Write cheque
    Finish ironing
    Check bank accounts/statement
    Clear dining table

Thank you for starting the new thread, Natty. And thank you Bossy for last week's lists.

CY, I hope you're feeling a little better now. Please keep cheering us on
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Frizzle - new house, new baby! (Anyone else planning to move, be warned )
Dancemum, I'm glad you all enjoyed time out together.
Welcome to newbies - jump in and join us by doing whatever you can.
Thanks to all who gave helpful advice on mobiles. I now know that I need to buy a new unlocked, sim-free phone as I hate the one that has just died on me; after that I will sort out the tariff. In the meantime I'm using an old handset with a slightly dodgy battery.

I need to give myself a good talking-to, as it's going to be a bitty week and I must *not* use this as an excuse not to get work done. The boxes are still waiting to be filled and the garden is still waiting to be planted up :( but I have a U3A group tomorrow, SW and horse piddle appointment on Tuesday, vol job on Wednesday and a meeting on Thursday. Need to start the week early tomorrow as I mean to go on.

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round, as needed x

    Evening!

Thanks for the lists natty hope you're ok x

I'm in this week although not sure what order things will get done! I'm only working Mon/Tue but longer days. We shall see.

Kiddies are going up the road to DS pals mum for the day - then hers are coming to me on Wednesday:eek: the kids are so excited about it. Been told to drop them off at 7am in their jammies and they will all have brekki together:) so we need to make sure they take some clothes and DD meds.

I'll check the weather forecast- hopefully they can play out and not cause too much havoc...

Thank you for the thread, Bossy and Natty.

I had another nap before cooking tea and have accomplished very little except for the dailies. Just managed to hoover downstairs and collect eggs from a friend who bought a whole tray from the farm, saving me a trip.

I'm starting the week with a clean slate. Depending on a delivery I want to go through to work tomorrow (and Tuesday). I'm now sharing a room with a colleague/friend and we need to sort everything out. Wednesday afternoon DS1 has an operation at the dental clinic, but the rest of the week is fairly clear. My week sounds a bit like yours, iona. Like you, I want to try to stay on track.

Minging Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    HHC clearing and cleaning
    sort through fridge
    HHC clearing DR table

    Extra Mission
    29 fling boogie.. GO!
Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET
    Trip to LIDL after work

    thanks to all thread-starters.
I'm in. Quite a bit of work scheduled for this week: at least 2 full assessments; 5hrs tuition; a report to finish; some proposals for the new contract to check through and comment on.
I've also got a huge list of red-flagged emails to act on; a cc bill to sort out; a messy house to continue sorting and the ever-growing garden to get under control. And church flowers to do (pink and mint wedding? yeh right; they aren't expecting flowers and aren't buying them, so they will get what my garden has to offer).
On the social side, I've got dinner with The Girls (ex college) on Tuesday. And gym; lots of, needed badly................

    happy flying everyone
