Why wouldn't they? sure there are even tariffs now that split them both

They certainly do. My contract with O2 is like this.

Why would they have to replace if it is out of warranty/gtee.

If it is in the first year of contract they should but i didn't think any phones were gteed past 12 months

Of course I may be talking crap , it's just my take but the OP hasn't said how old it is anyway

If it was established the fault was inherent, which is likely, by the sound of it, the OP will be able claim under the terms of the SOGA.

True, but that doesn't necessarily mean that full contracts reflect the actual true cost of the handset.

Vodafones warranty lasts the full length of the contract. But to add a bit more detail, the phone is less than a year old as I had an HTC one that had 4 repairs which was eventually replaced with the LG g3 last September.

My understanding is that just because something had been replaced once already doesn't resolve them of their responsibility for the replacement . They even told me that the warranty transferred to the new phone.

What are the terms of the warranty, when a repair cannot be effected?

That's a bit odd, they really should tell you. Do you have any paperwork for the warranty?

Make a formal request for the copy of the warranty terms and conditions.

From what they say in their T&C's, the warranty is the manufacturers warranty and they liaise with them.

Also says when the manufacturers warranty has run out they wont cover it, I wouldnt think manufacturers cover phones for the duration of the contract

Don't know if they do or not, but Vodafone does. Plus my phone is only 9 months old
