Yeah it's nothing special and it's probably overpriced for what it is, but in no way can you compare to a Corsa.0

Viva = Korean built crap. Corsa European built.....reasonable quality , half decent drive.0

It has been my experience that cars built in Korea have a better record of reliability than most European models.
Mrs Dorma drove a Daewoo Nexia for a while, it had done 136,000 miles and was still going strong when we sold it a few years ago.0 -

So you've driven the Viva? I found the Corsa to be a pretty soul destroying drive to be honest and plasticky on the inside like many Vauxhalls (saw the new VXR8 GTS last weekend and even that was full of tacky looking plastic despite it's hefty price tag)
Both appear to be personality lacking small cars produced by Vauxhall. I'm not sure why you wouldn't compare them.
Its a shame Vauxhall couldn't come up with a different name for the Viva, even sticking with Aguila would have been a better bet.0 -
"So you've driven the Viva?" .....yes , I have driven most cars on the market at one time or another.
"Its a shame Vauxhall couldn't come up with a different name for the Viva, even sticking with Aguila would have been a better bet".........do you mean Agila ??
"Both appear to be personality lacking small cars produced by Vauxhall".......the Agila is basically a Suzuki Splash so its comparing two different manufacturers.
"(saw the new VXR8 GTS last weekend and even that was full of tacky looking plastic despite it's hefty price tag)"......this is basically the Australian Holden......so again basically different manufacturer.
If you compare the Corsa with similar sized cars such as the Polo,Fiesta,Fabia, and others you will find a similar plasticky finish. I personally wouldn't buy a Corsa but they are comparable with other cars in the price range.0 -

Strange bit of marketing reviving the Viva name.
But then I've never understood why Vauxhall hasn't just rebranded as Opel. Why does a company keep a brand going in one country if the brand isn't even a good one?0 -
It's not a popular brand on motoring forums such as this, but I'm sure GM have looked at it and calculated that the Vauxhall brand is still more viable in the UK than Opel. Lots of cautious buyers out there who won't buy brands they don't know. Personally I prefer "Opel" because is sounds cooler and has a better logo!"Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

Because Vauxhall is an historic British brand and the British market would not relate to Opel, being a German brand, as much.0
