Parking Fine, Advice On Our Next Move Please

Options
Hi,

Read through loads of posts & read some conflicting advice so not sure on my next move.

Received a PCN through the post from UK Car Park Management. The majority of the advice I've read say's ignore & don't pay. I have photos of the letter itself and pictures of where the alleged offense took place. These pictures prove the fine shouldn't be valid as the sign says first 4 bays and we were parked in the fifth, they even have a picture of the car in the fifth bay on the actual PCN to back this up. But I've also read the appeals process is pointless through them as it's all in house

I'm not sure on what to do next. I have 5 pictures I've tried to upload which will show my case more clearly to you guys and hopefully help with any advice. I tried to upload via tiny pic with url links but site won't let me post links as I'm a new user here.

if this is england or wales you would be very foolish to ignore them
any advice saying that would have to be 2.5 to 3 years old or more

I have been coming here for over 2 years and the advice since the law changed has always been to APPEAL, not ignore

its the debt collectors that need to be IGNORED

the NEWBIES sticky thread does tell you what to do, it may be daunting but read it a few times until it sinks in

UKCPS are in the BPA so the appeals by popla are currently done by London Councils, so not done "in house"

ps:- its not a fine, no private company can fine you , although a judge could

its a speculative invoice which they have 6 years to chase up , same as any invoice for any "service"
  • Is there a possible way I can upload these photos that I have so you guys can help advise with regards to the appeals process

    BTW, what is popla

    try GOOGLE (just a thought)

also acronyms are explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread I asked you to read (dont read the other rubbish you have been wasting your time with up to now, read that NEWBIES sticky thread , learn the acronyms too, they are important)

as for photos or scans, the answer is NO, you cannot upload them here

BUT, what you can do is redact the copies of personal details etc, then host them on tinypic or photobucket, which is the correct method og hosting pics, then use a DEAD link in your reply here, for the URL (another acronym , lol - so dont ask ! )

so change the http to hxxp in your link or links, to make them "dead links"

we will fix the link to a "live link"

bear in mind that what happened on the day is laregely irrelevant , its just a method they have of producing an invoice to you and they have 6 years to try to enforce it

your "evidence" may be useful at popla, it may help your defence if it went before a judge, the PPC wont care and neither will the BPA

its a means to an end, a civil matter, not trying to prove you didnt commit an unlawful act as you have an alibi of being in NEW YOURK at the time the incident in Bristol took place !!

    you catch my drift ?

if so, lose the guilt complex or righteous indignation and fight back, like we all have done

we will help you so dont worry about it, read and learn , because we cannot really help you until you learn the basics of this topic

this person https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5287867 was told the same info yesterday, but chose not to follow that basic learning process

Again all this is Explained at the top of the parking forum in the stickies.
Unless you can read and take this is, nobody is going to be able to help.
You have to have some basic understanding.

No more help till you read the NEWBIES thread or take time to google POPLA, This forum helps people help themselves. We are NOT substitutes for paid for solicitors.

So, if you do some work, we help. That's the deal.
  • thanks, i did read through but your right, needs to be read a few times to sink so I'll go back

Maybe made the mistake by reading through old threads first & that's were the (imo) conflicting advice comes from

thanks for your help & replys guys

no problem in asking valid questions that you cannot find the answers to by reading the sticky threads or google

but if you saw the number of times we are asked how to put pictures up on the forum or what acronyms mean (not including B.B.C , I.T.V , B.T. , P.O. , M.P. , etc) then you would know why we get exasperated a lot, lol , never mind the fact the person asking could easily google it and most are in wikipedia too

come back when you have digested it all and are ready to move forward, then the help you require will be forthcoming

and dont read old threads, its as useless as reading a 5 year old telly guide to find out what is on tv tonight , ancient history, things change , including this topic
  • right okay, I am trying!! ha

I need a rejection from the PPC that issued me my 'invoice' and for them to give my a popla appeals form before I can take my appeal to popla

you advise to always make my appeal to the PPC via email so they can't say they've lost it but when i go to the PPC's website in this case UK Car Park Management they say that all appeals must be done in writing. Is this actually the case or is there a link that's hidden so I can appeal via email ?

Sorry again if i'm being a dumbass and not helping myself but i am trying ;-)

Again much appreciate your time & help with this guys

very few accept email appeals so no idea where you saw that email should be used ?

its usually on the company website , or in writing via snail mail

so if they tell you its in writing by snail mail , do so

but take the envelope to the P.O. and ask them for a free certificate of posting, (not recorded delivery) , keep this proof of postage safe and scan it or take pics of it too

DO NOT USE A POSTBOX , there is no paper trail with a post box
