One has to feel a bit sorry for Morrisons, The only reason this chap used their car park was to meet a train, having breakfast in what was probably a concession anyway was an afterthought.

Throw the book at him I say, this was a thoroughly justified commercial penalty. Landowners have rights too you know.

I agree, but in this case the OP is a blatant abuser of landowners' rights.

How's that exactly? The fact is that we were genuine customers. Had I just parked there for 2 and a half hours and not purchased anything from Morrisons then I would see your point. But that did not happen. We spent over £25 in their cafe for food/drink for four people.

A person's motivation for going to and spending money at the landowners retail shop is of absolutely no consequence, surely?

    I sent my email to
    david.potts-ceo@morrisonsplc.co.uk

    and copied to
    Benjamin.Kargans@morrisonsplc.co.uk
    Lorraine.Dickinson@morrisonsplc.co.uk

had a reply from Ben Kargans confirming cancellation so he seems to be the one to write to.

Following your successful attempt in dealing with the charge notice from parking eye, I complained to morrisons CEO via email couple of days ago and I got a reply today from Lorraine that they have cancelled the charge.

Now the next step is : do I need to get a written cancellation from parking eye?

If yes, then how do I approach them? Via email or phone? Is there anything I should /shouldn't tell them?

I think Morrisons are getting a bit pig sick of PE!

    E-mail PE with a copy of the Morrisons E-mail stating the PCN number and stating you now consider this matter closed Redact your name etc;

Request confirmation that they have received your E-mail.

I also had an overstaying penalty in the free car park and I also went down the 'email to David Potts' route. Didn't even bother with an appeal to PE.

'Loyal customer' 'visited the store twice in the same afternoon' 'understand the need for parking restrictions but not in the case of genuine customers'... that sort of thing.

24 hours later I had a reply apologising and cancelling the charge. A few days later (yesterday) a letter from PE confirming the cancellation.

    Thanks
