Yes please to inspiring book links, at any time!
Your desk clearance has inspired me to ditch my paper work folder and go electronic for managing my tasks again. I take the laptop and phone anyway so that means paper can be reduced to one notebook. I haven't dared tackle the desk heap yet!
The writer of Be More With Less has a ninja-level clothes clearance project called Project 33, where she just has 33 items for each 3 month season. Might be of interest

I don't know if rooibos is your thing (caffeine free) but there are lovely ones from a company called T2. They let you try stuff in the shop, I am a real coffee addict but with their teas I find I don't feel deprived and can decrease my coffee consumption.
I am also watching much less TV. The longer evenings help. I find I am getting so much more done as a result
Have a good week MT

Hello Rosa. This is the book I've been talking about. I downloaded it through Audible. If anyone is interested in it then Audible give 1 free month credit for joining, so this book would be free. Then just cancel membership before the end of the month.

Thank you DIA for the caffeine free drink tip. I've fallend back into bad habits so will have a look at your recommendation.
Isn't it nice not being a slave to the TV, especially when we are having mostly lovely weather?

So much catching up to do again!!! I really need to find a way to log onto my computer more at the weekend because I seem to live my life in two stages each week! Which doesn't work as the Home Stage gets a bit spendy!!!
I had my weekend away in Sweden a couple of weekends ago, during the most glorious weather, which was fantastic. I'd pre paid the hotel and that included breakfast. I did spend more than I expected to though, and completely wiped out my holiday savings fund!!!! I do feel the trip away was worth it, but that's not the right attitude when so much money dripped through my fingers.
I've also committed to Hawaii next year with the group, so I need to save for that, and to do that, I need to be in the right mindset to keep saving! Although, I think I'm going to open up a regular saver account as that trip is a year away, I'll get the most interest for it and I can't easily get to the money.
Since getting back I've also been out a lot and spent far more than I should on groceries. So I need a new plan!!!
This also means that the ladies won't come out in celebration for me today!!!
I am up to date on YNAB now and as shameful as it is, I'm pleased with myself for facing up to it.
My regular saver with M&S matures next week, so I will get my credit card paid off, and then I'll start to put a "mortgage amount" away each month to help me save for a new property.
I've also signed up for an obstacle race next year! I'm not fit enough to climb stairs at the moment, so this needs a really serious plan of action! I'm also in a large team where I think there's just me and one other female!!! I can't go through the humiliation of letting the team down, or backing out, so I need to get on this!!!
I was asking about they gym we have close to work and 4 of the men I work with have offered to give me some personal training. So, if I'm not doing a good job by myself then I do have this option! I don't want to join the gym, so the incentive to do this alone is financial - and that's always a big incentive for me.
I hope everyone is having a happy hump day!

Sweden MT? How exciting and the prospect of Hawaii is even more exciting so do keep saving for that.
The personal training sounds like a good idea. As someone who has cancelled my gym membership I understand not wanting to join. I hope you'll share how you get on if you go down the PT route. A friend is doing the same and getting fab results
Happy hump day

Happy hump day MT, I think the dancing ladies should come out anyway - you were brave enough to sort your YNAB and you have a plan!

Thank you DIA. I did once have a personal trainer and I looked the best I think I've ever done. Then an injury and some snow and I was on a downward spiral. Soon after I had 2 large events in my life that triggered some serious self destruction. I'm healed from those events now and so have no more excuses to hide behind. I have decided that rather than join an expensive gym and based on the training plan I used to do (and loved), I'm going to try to go it alone for a short time. If I don't see results then I'll speak to these guys and ask for their help. I can't recommend PT enough, if you get the right person, as they push you much harder than you believe you can go. Then you find you can do more than you realised and life is full of painful muscles and a major sense of achievement!! MTxx0

I think you're right Rosa. The dancing ladies shouldn't be held back for small reasons! I'll get them to dust off their outfits for today's update. MTxx0

I feel like I've really lost some focus recently. Looking at YNAB, I've taken from various categories to pay for frivolities! Leaving most of my categories at struggling point.
To remedy this I've been through next month's plan to reallocate back into those categories. I've also decided not to pay off my credit card with the regular saver, for the added bonus that I have a DD coming from that account still, and I need 2 to get the reward. I can also pay the whole lot in 3 months if I focus. Then the money I get in from the saver can earn me some interest.
I've also decided that as I'm potentially going to be applying for a mortgage I need to feel confident that I can comfortably pay this. So I've set up a Mortgage "account" on YNAB in the Investment Tracking section, and a realistic payment budget for it each month. Initially I will use the Regular Saver money to "fund" this and then, once the credit card is paid up, I'll be using my salary.
In truth the money will just sit in my 3% interest account, but it needs to be accounted for within YNAB and I need it to look like it's something that's being paid out. I've created a fake account for it so that I can't be tempted to easily reallocate the money to other categories when I've spend binged!
If this works out, it's a win win for me, whether I get a mortgage or not, so that's a cue for the girls, if ever there was one...I've also found lots of good clothes at home that currently don't fit me, and I won't want to wear if I lose sufficient weight either. So I'm hoping to get some ebaying done this weekend. My good bike needs to go up on there too! So hopefully I can recoup some losses that way too! I've been focussing on self improvement and went a bit OTT on it!!!! But, that should mean that now I've bought some good quality items, I can sell other bits I've had that maybe aren't in line with my new plans.
Have a great day. We're almost at the weekend!!!!!
