an old flatmate of mine used to do that - it used to drive me crazy!!! And when it was her turn to buy the loo roll she'd only ever buy a two pack
in countries like India, until quite recently, most people never really used loo roll. they'd keep a bottle of water by the loo and give themselves a wash! bit like a DIY bidet!! My gran always used this method and we always had an empty milk bottle next to the loo!! It always makes me smile when I go to relatives houses and see a milk bottle in the bathroom. Been meaning to try it but i have to admit being quite attached to the andrex...0 -

This thread has made me laugh out loud. I have a story similar to the quote above by spendaholic.
When I was a nipper, my brother and I spent a week living with our Auntie/Uncle/Cousins.
One day us cousins were apoplectic with laughter.:rotfl: We discovered that our young relatives were using two new sponges (sponges? they were posh - we used a flannel:o ) to get washed with. The reason for the laughter? The young twins told us that they hadn't told their older sister which was the 'bum' sponge.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. What a thread!!!!! :rotfl:
Ok, I'll admit to having packs of baby wipes in the bathroom as well decent loo roll, for that extra clean feel... yet another area where I'm almost obsessed with cleanliness
Someone mentioned using squares of newspaper ... I have memories of that being done as a kid too when we'd run out of loo roll, probably due to one of us kids having used half a roll at a time LOL! These days we have kitchen roll for when the loo roll runs out"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
