Sorry my fibro fog is bad today.
you do get it then.
earlier you said you got £109 a week.
if you take a lodger, they disregard £20 of the rent you charge but then de3duct the rest from your housing benefit.
you will have to ask your HA for permission and will it be worth it for £20 a week?0 -

I'm baffled.
monthly ( 131.58 x 52/12 = 32632) so its right.
you just haven't notified them of your rent increase0 -

it looked like you were saying your income was £109, but that the council were using different applicable amounts0 -
Well at least we've got to the bottom of it! I'll make sure I get that rectified. Thanks for your help everyone0

Rent and HB is only applicable to 48 weeks per year, not 52, so her original figures for rent and HB appear to be correct.0

even if the rent is charged over 48 weeks (calendar monthly), housing benefit is calculated on a weekly/fortnightly/4 weekly basis, so it will tally up at the end of the year0

If a claimant is charged 48 weeks rent then at my local authority we don't pay anything for the rent free periods otherwise if someone only claimed for a few months they would receive less if the 48 weeks of rent liability was spread over 52 weeks. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
