I've always been amused by the attempts to cash in with similar names - I remember seeing Tennessee Fried Chicken many years ago. In my patch in South London; there are a couple of smaller chains which seem to do reasonable business and now they have imitators too e.g. Morley's Fried Chicken has 2 or 3 branches and has inspired a Marley's and a Mowley's. There's also Favorite Chicken which has been joined by Favorable Chicken - just how desperate do you have to be to settle for favourable chicken?I need to think of something new here...0

So much wrong with this I don't even know where to start but then this is londonTiger who basically knows nothing about anything but has an opinion on it all!the gold standard of friend chicken that is KFC.
That's a joke, right? Also, what's friend chicken?0 -

lol, copycats of copycats are the worse.
Something all chicken shops get wrong is that they have a chicken cartoon as their logo. KFC has colonel sanders, but these indies have a chicken with it's thumbs up almost recommending it in a cannibalistic way.0 -
I can't embed any of them here, but anyone who doesn't know the Viz strip 'Hen Cabin' (and who doesn't mind raw language) will enjoy searching for some strips.0

KFC Pressure Fry their chicken (Whatever that is), I'm guessing the other shops just deep fry their chicken and as other's have mentioned probably turnover less product so it's not as freshly cooked0

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKnL2IhLxjc and go to the 3 minute point. Much quicker way of frying chicken and you get a better result. They're not that expensive. Any fried chicken shop should have one.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

So why is it that nobody has figured out how to make chicken like the gold standard of friend chicken that is KFC.
:rotfl:get out more and try some jerk chicken, there is a jerk chicken stall just behind waterloo station, and its delicious and makes KFC look like something from Iceland freezers.0 -
I haven't had it in years but remember thinking it was good...
I guess it is the same as burger king, these fast food joints can't muster up anything close...
Although i haven't had a burger king in years either
Fast food mostly tastes like crap and makes me feel rough the next day, only have it when my cupboards are bare and cant be bothered to leave the house.
The most fat is in the skin of a chicken, and i would imagine even if you removed the skin from a kfc it wouldn't be as healthy as a normal piece of chicken cooked in the oven..
Most of my local takeaways cook chicken so that it is hard as a bullet (presumably reheated) dry or soggy. There seems to be no happy medium.0
