Am having a pants year for competitions, last year I had lots of luck and won a cruise and a weekend in London, as well as cash prizes, this year I have won hardly anything, and its all been little prizes ... I have even started getting paranoid and thinking it was due to timing because I was doing my comps at night more rather than in the daytime!! I have definitely learnt that it is a case of ups and downs so I soldier on with fingers firmly crossed!

In some cases the secret is not to let reality interfere with a good list of "wins":)

The secret is to not let it become an obsession. I spend about an hour comping every day between 2.30 - 3.30pm. Just enter comps for things you want, don't bother with little prizes that you could buy easily with your daily shopping because it's likeley that 5000 people have already entered to win that selection of cheeses or pair of headphones. I also do a couple of surveys for points with Toluna every night for an hour and that gets me about £150 in amazon vouchers i use for christmas and birthday presents.
2014 Wins - Bad Grandpa dvd - 4 Duck legs from an online butchers - A great christmas onesie - A new laptop computer!
    2015 Wins - Smartphone, £3000 crossword prize.
    2018 wins - £2000 , Ipad

Raises the question, why enter if you already had the books   I apply the logic that if I think I'll be any way disappointed to receive the prize then I simply don't enter, and give someone else the chance who might really want/need it :)

Well said writi0102 :T The odds of winning any competition are heavily stacked against all us compers ( despite what Di Coke may lead you to believe :p). You could comp 24/7 for months and still not win anything  whereas an hour spent on completing surveys is time very well spent, as it will at least guarantee you a nice payout for all your efforts!
