New forum design users can’t see the “POST TITLE”

This relates to posts #2 onwards on any thread – see below for an example. This was pointed out way back in 2014 during consultations about the new design but the issue is still ongoing.

Posters using the old design still put useful information in the POST TITLE, especially on the Competitions forum.

Can POST TITLE please be displayed for new forum design users.
…even if they can’t create one or edit it.

As an alternative, can the creation/editing of POST TITLE be disabled for old design users – a possible easy way to hack this may be to change the current 85 characters limit to 0 or 1 character which will make it useless (providing it is a separate parameter to THREAD TITLE)

IIRC, this was flagged during the beta-testing - and, typically, ignored.

post here from april that I posted regarding the long threads
in the new forum layout not showing the 'titles'..

& the problem is still ongoing,
we have posts/messages from members who
participate on the threads that say they can't view the 'title'
end dates &/or the title magazine issue number etc
using the new layout.

I would be strongly against such a retrograde step.
There are times when the 'title' line is very useful.

The only valid way to proceed is to give the new version the same functionality as the old version.
