Well done for getting your DMP all sorted you must be so relieved.
We are doing ok. Still waiting for confirmation from SC. Had a call the other day just to check a couple of things on the budget so hopefully we will hear this week. We are both so much more relaxed now I can't tell you. We haven't been like this for a loooong time
My new file is going to be for any SC paperwork and any important documents. I feel like even having that is a new start for us. The other non important stuff is sitting in the incinerator waiting to be burned

To be honest, I feel like a bit of a cheat! It's been so easy! I completed the online remedy tool, got the advice to do a DMP, signed paperwork and provided account details for those in the plan.
I've had just 2 short phone calls with SC but I'm all set to go 1st May, so a couple of months to get used to it all and I'm on my way.
I know it's not going to be easier, but the thought of just one payment each month, and some backup if things get tough, I can't wait!!
Good luck with finalising your plan and getting going xx0 -

It is easy, people expect to be made to jump through hoops, but it just does not happen like that at all.
But you should not feel like a cheat, these solutions exist for a very good reason, things happen in life that we have no control over, and everyone deserves a safety net.
Do not feel sorry for your creditors either, they plan these things into their business models, so they rarely lose out when people default.
You have made the right choice for your situation, i cant tell you how difficult it can be reading peoples posts before they have there LB moment, they go on about "0%" deals, then when they run out its consolidation, when that goes wrong, they finally realize they should of gone to debt management previously.

It is going to easier. Life will be better and worry will lift from your shoulders. I've been there
One piece of advice - make sure you do save the amounts in categories for hairdressing, repairs, maintenance, clothing etc. etc. Don't make the mistake of using those amounts to live on day to day. They really are there for saving until they are needed for those bits and pieces.
Enjoy your DMP. :beer:DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Following your advice and already I am putting money into my second savings account ready for car tax insurance and things like that. I have put our emergency fund in a separate savings account. As Sourcrates said I already wish I had done this sooner.

Just transfer the money over to your correct account.
Nothing bad will happen :-)0 -
Thanks Keezing- I tried transferring it online but it wouldn't go through because I'm in the red- my wages have reduced my overdraft0

Ring the bank, explain your problem.
They have to leave you money to live on, insist the funds get transferred.
