My first DMP payment went put on Tuesday - and it was also the day I received my first default notice! Felt very odd.

It is odd and goes against everything we've struggled to juggle for the past decade +, but believe me defaults are good. 6 years from now that is gone and you are happy in the fact there will be no more interest.0 -

The start of a new chapter in your life towards becoming debt free. I agree though, odd timing must have meant to be.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

This month sees my DMP at 75% paid back and 25% to go...and the first of my Eleven debts totally paid off:)
I'm going to be very giddy during 2016 as each debt finishes and my defaults start to drop off;)
Hi Ellie
It's a lovely thing to be looking forward to, how many different debts have you got ? Will you share it with us as you get to 0? I need plenty of motivation at the moment:oDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Hi everyone, haven't been on for a while but have been lurking. Real life has been getting in the way a bit! Had to say goodbye to a beloved family pet and am nervously awaiting some scan results. OH has been told he's having a payrise next month though, which is great.
Good luck on your dmp journey Triangle! Will look out for your diary. I'm probably going to start one soon too, think it'll help me keep on track a bit. Great debt busting news Puzzcat (I've been reading your diary!) and DanielleNic. I've often wondered about picking off the smaller debts as and when possible so interesting to hear that SC have said nothing about it.
We've made our second (of many!) payment to SC today. We are having a few problems with Barclays though. Our accounts were graduate accounts and we had to pay an account fee each month plus interest on the overdraft. Logged into online banking tonight to see that they're still taking money for the account fee. Think it may be partly due to the accounts not being transferred to collections yet, but wondering whether to give them a call to see if anything can be done about it now. Has anyone else had this problem with account fees still being taken?
Hey Patch,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your pet, and hope your own scan results are only good news, when will you know?
Least you have some good news with a pay rise for the OH.
I think it's perfectly possible to pick off the small debts without SC batting an eyelid, just update your accounts as you gradually lower the amounts.
You could ring BC, but I think you'd be better to write to them about the account fees, they clearly shouldn't be charging.

Nothing has been said by SC for paying them off and all other creditors payments have increased x
Yeah Danielle,
Well done, one down, and now faster paying off the rest, bet that's a bit of a motivator for you:TDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Good Afternoon,
I haven't posted for a while. I hope you're all doing well.
My DMP has been plodding along nicely although last month I had to reduce my monthly payment as my office has moved and I'm paying £325 for the luxury of commuting.
I had a look at my SC statement today and Halifax seem to have passed my debt over to Blair, Oliver and Scott (I hadn't been informed until I looked at the statement).
Should I be worried?
£325!!!!! Gees that's a big dent in the debt busting plan?
I guess the reduced payments might be what sent you to a DCA, weird no one said, but so long as the payments are getting there don't think anything to worry about.
Nice to hear from again Fuzzy, hope all is going well in life despite the office changes.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Just follow the process here https://nedcab.cabmoney.org.uk/dmp.asp it was all fairly painless.
You certainly do not have to send them copies of your payslips or bank statements it really is none of their business. I think stepchange asked for payslips just as an initial precaution.
You have so much more control self managed and you can pay them what you want, which is the best weapon to getting interest removed.0
