Hi Patch,
I am having the same problem with Barclays and apparently its because the accounts are being closed down and transferred to Recoveries. Your payment will probably sit in some kind of limbo until passed over, one of mine is now fine but the other 2 are still being transferred. It should all be sorted in the next few weeks.

Good evening all.
Not posted for a while. Been in a DMP with PP since Feb '14 and its mostly going well. However in June I started receiving letters from Westcot chasing me for the balance owing on my two NatWest current accounts. I forwarded all the info and letters to PPlan who said they would update their systems to reflect that the accounts had been passed to a DCA. Anyway, I've logged onto my PPlan online account and it would seem that the last three payments have still gone to NatWest and have been accepted. Noddle also seems to agree that NatWest is still my creditor.
In the meantime, Westcot have constantly been calling and writing to me and I've ignored them thinking that PayPlan would get in touch with them, as I asked and they said they would do, to let them know that I am making regular payments via my DMP.
My concern is that I've been paying NatWest and Westcot have no knowledge of these payments so the balance is remaining the same. I'm tempted to call them, but all the advice seems to be to do everything in writing. Perhaps I'm expecting too much of PayPlan, although they did give me the impression that it would be sorted outfrom their end. Any advice as to my next step with them?LBM 7th Jan 2014

Thank you so much, that makes sense and has put my mind at rest. We've both had termination notices on the accounts about a month ago and also a letter this last week saying that as we don't have an arranged overdraft/emergency borrowing on the accounts it's important we're aware of the current balance situation and that the necessary steps are taken to return the account to credit. Can you remember if you had a letter like that? Never sure whether to bother SC with things like this! The letter does say that no interest or daily fees are payable on the balance, so that's good. It also says that an unpaid transaction fee of £8 a day will apply for any returned unpaid transactions, but all direct debits etc have been cancelled now so that shouldn't happen.
thehistorygirl - I'm very new to DMPs so not sure what to suggest. One of OH's accounts passed to a DCA just before we started the DMP and they said there's a transfer period that could take several months and any payments made to the old account in that period will be passed to them eventually. So your payments might get to Westcot soon. That doesn't help with them hassling you now, though. I'd be tempted to give PayPlan a call to see what they say. Hope you get it sorted soon.0 -

I think if I was in your situation I would contact Westcot. I'm happy to telephone creditors now, I wasn't at the beginning of my DMP, but if you don't feel comfortable phoning them just write and explain the situation. I would also get in touch with PP again and ask them to look at the account again. Westcot aren't going to go away and the more you ignore them the more they will hassle. Plus why are NatWest accepting the payments if the debt has been passed onto a DCA? I would be calling them too. When a couple of my debts got passed onto a DCA there was a crossover in the payments and the payments went to the original creditor before I could change things. Those payments were passed over to the DCA by the original creditor. It got sorted out eventually though.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

This is a pain in the bum and I have the badge and the teeshirt.
I agree.....if you are up to it call Wuscot and explain just to be on the safe side. Alternatively advise them what is happening in writing. They won't go away and it will reduce stress in the long run.
Most of all, don't worry - you are paying towards the debt so nothing nasty will happen. The Gnat's Vest HAVE TO account to Wuscot for any payments they have received and with all the rage I could direct at the Gnat's, I will give them credit to say they WILL sooner or later.
I do wish my Gnat's debt would be transferred - they guaranteed to me that they would not do anything nasty (and not sell) so long as I kept up with my modest repayment plan so I think the only way I could bring it on would be to cease payments but that is a risk way to much.......a bridge too far :rotfl:!! There are one or two people on this site who have told us their experiences if we don't pay anything and ignore  !!
The Gnat's is my biggest remaining debt now too.

Morning all,
history girl, I agree with Broggers and GUO, probably be less stressful to ring Westcot and remove the 'chase me' stress that you are having at the moment. Things like 'only contact me in writing' and details of SC plan often don't get transferred to DCA, or if they do, they still like to talk you directly.
You don't have to agree to anything, give them the same line of, 'I'm with SC, write to me with your details and I'll change the details with SC so payments come to you' should do it. Have your SC reference ready to quote so they know you're not pulling a fast one and all should be fine. Remember it's in the interest of the DCA to keep you on side so they get some dosh out of you, and you are one of the good guys and not running away, be proud of dealing with your debts.
On the BC confusion issues, yes they never seem to be able to get right hand and left hand working in harmony. I used to get letters saying 'call us to discuss' so I did and they would say you are with SC why are you ringing, 'because you wrote to me' - oh they'd say don't worry about those letters, just ignore them and let SC keep paying, if we want you we'll ring you and leave a message! They don't bother me now.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Hi Patch
Yes I did receive those letters, think they are just standard letters so I never told SC but I had rung Barclays to check why they didn't have my payments and that's when they explained about the accounts closing down and why payments weren't showing. The guy at Barclays was so laid back and told me not to worry as they were not chasing for payment at this point, he said it would take several weeks for accounts to move to recoveries. When i previously spoke to them, they assured me they have never taken anyone to court so although the admin side is a bit messy at the moment, don't worry about it too much :-)

Had some more post today from Barclays and Stepchange, Barclays telling me they accept my payment plan on my other account and want me to start making payments from 18th October, even though they have been in place since 1st July. Stepchange letter says Barclays payment has been returned so I now have to scan letters to SC and get this resolved. I will be glad when all the teething problems are sorted :-)
