could anyone advise- we've recently set up a DMP~ with stepchange. 1st months payment came out few weeks back. we've just realised we need to add another creditor- is this going to totally screw things up? not sure how we 'missed' this one. its another £2000!

    really worried now
Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children away :D Thank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j

Hiya, I added two creditors after my first payment went to SC and they were fine about it, just give them a ring and they can do the juggling for you x

I posted in another thread, but someone recommended I ask for help here...

I am in the process of setting up a DMP with Step Change. My creditor is Natwest, with whom I have two loans and an O/D.

I have never missed a loan payment with them, but have recently amassed a huge O/D debt, which means I will no longer be able to make the loan payments successfully. I have acted quickly and should still be able to make this month's loan payments, but won't be able to contribute to the O/D balance. Someone has suggested I make token payments towards the loans in order to help clear the O/D... Can someone please explain what a token payment is and how I go about doing it?

Do I need to speak to Natwest or simply cancel the direct debit? I am very confused!
  • im only just starting out too but from what i can gather... yes cancel your DD payments, a token payment is a small figure such as £1 just to show you are still paying something rather than just not paying anything. There is a template on here a couple of pages ago which you can use to send its the one i used
