hi wondering if anyone can help, we've just started a dmp with stepchange, first payment to them was a couple of weeks ago. today we received a letter from stepchange saying that barclaycard had rejected their/our offer, not to worry as they will keep paying them anyway . barlcaycard may go through their own collections department etc...
is this bad?! do i need to worry/do anything?Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children awayThank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j

No, it's par for the course with BC.
One of two things will happen, they will either eventually accept the offer, or they will offload the account to a specialist debt purchaser, either way it's completely normal, and you just carry on as you are doing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Evening everyone
Quick question regarding moving to self managed.....
Once you have written/contacted SC and advised that you are moving to self managed from a specified date and have got a list of creditor info from SC, do you then write to each creditor with an I and E form plus an offer of a repayment amount and wait for a response from them with details of where to send future payments to??
I'm sure someone posted a template letter to creditors and I have seen examples on NEDCAB. Is that pretty much all you need to do??
Thanks in advance,

Yep that's about it! I requested payment details so I could set up a standing order, still had to chase a few of them.

Morning, you can probably see by the time of this post that i am awake and worrying as usual. I have my first SC dmp payment going out on 1st april but wouldnt you know now my car needs about £500 of work doing to it! The only place i have that sort of cash is in my old lloyds account which currently has a £1000 overdraft. I had not mentioned this acc to SC as the od was intact and the account ready for closure (lloyds are my main creditor with a cc and a loan). I now think i will need to use it to pay for the car. Should i just do it? Should i tell SC the situation and get it added to dmp or not tell them and just try to pay it off outside the dmp? As lloyds are a creditor of mine and not heard if they've accepted the dmp yet i really dont want to rock the boat!!
Any advice?
Thanks

Hi, I would ring sc and delay the start of your dmp and then write to your creditors explaining the car trouble with a £1 token payment and start the month or 2 after.

Id make token payments until you have a decent emergency fund for things like this. I'm onto month 3 of tp and plan to do another 3. Something will crop up and you need to be financially prepared for it - so an emergency fund is a must really. We've had some snotty letters but nothing else although I have kept all our creditors informed.LBM 2/12/15 - total debt £62500:shocked::shocked::exclamati::eek:
2/216 £29500 unenforceable.

Ok,great,i'll see what i can do,thank you.
On another note, the old banks cant raid your new basic bank account can they? I've set one up with an unrelated bank but in the process of transferring,my new details would have been used on my old accounts,(transferring dd's and the cash to pay them). My very small emergency fund (less than £100 so far) is in the new account,is it safe?0 -

How have you explained and delayed your DMP for so long as I wanted to stall mine for a bit longer and do a few more token payments xDMP Started June 20160
