I don't post often but I thought I would mention that we have survived our first Christmas on the DMP. We are 3 months into ours and I must say this is the most relaxed Christmas I have had ever. Usually on boxing day I would have been up at 5am to go to the sales and buy lots of clothes we do not really need. Instead I popped into Next this afternoon and only spent £29 and £20 of that was a gift card I received fro my birthday. This compared to probably over £150 I would have spent on CC. I have now learnt to spend only what I have which means I now have to think about what I need rather than want.
I could have posted this myself (other than getting up at 5am to go sales shopping ) - 3 months into the DMP and without doubt the most relaxed and stress free Christmas (despite having two toddlers!) :jMFW!

Good Afternoon my fellow dmp'ers.. I hope you are all well and full of Turkey and Sprouts....!
Update time for my dmp... bit more complicated than usual but i can confirm that my total should be.....
Start Nov 2013 - £60062
Now Jan 2016 - £45217.....:T:T:T
So 24.8% DONE...
The reason for the complication is when I logged onto my SC statement today I noticed the balance from Nov to Dec hadn't changed enough to reflect my payment.. Puzzled I did a little bit of calculating and discovered that my balance for Nov and Dec for 2 of my creditors were exactly the same... weird....
This showed then that instead of £600 coming off my debt, only £444 had gone.. so who had my £156???
Quick call to SC... Lady not sure although she confirmed that a creditor had been on my account on the 7th Dec and amended the balances back to the previous month.. I didn't know the creditors could even do that...!!!! But she didn't know why as they had been paid... cue you need to call the creditor...
So call to creditor.. lovely lady, I explained and she could then confirm as SC sent my revised payment to them 7th Dec they updated the account then as they hadn't received the payment.. They of course received it on the 8th...She will arrange for the balances to be amended.. all very complicated but what did I learn..
Check your statements..
Creditors can and do also change the balances... In fact the PRAT group took £13 off... don't mind them doing it that way..:rotfl:
So although my statement doesn't reflect at this moment my debt totals, as far as I am concerned I have paid/will have paid soon the January payment so will start 2016 with the above totals...
Good Luck to all newbies and big love to all the oldies and regular posters..

Well done Puzz. Fantastic news
You have inspired me to update my signature with January figures;)
I am [STRIKE]pleased[/STRIKE] delighted to announce we have paid over 10% off our debts and also are now sub £85k :j:j:j
I know our figures are still massive, but the emotional boost it gives to reach those 2 milestones this month is amazing..

Excellent news Puzz, nearly one quarter of the way through.
And No. I've never heard of creditors bring able to update balances on SC either, how weird. I wonder if they can view your other creditors on the account ?
I generally update mine against noddle every couple of months, balances used to be wrong because SC assumed interest stopped, which until now did not, but as am interest free completely now they are usually correct. Sounds like more than one, was PRA involved on both? And were they both DcA?January2015 wrote: »Well done Puzz. Fantastic news

Amazing stuff Jan15, I love to fiddle with my spreadsheets for progress checks, every little motivational milestone achievement helps.
As we all go towards 2016 owing less than we did in 2015, we have all achieved, no matter how large or small or debt or progress.

Hi Sazzie,
It was actually RBS and Natwest who had amended the figures ! The SC lady told me about PRAT as I hadn't noticed the debt had gone down... She also told me the creditors regularly do this, although N.West said they only do it occasionally.. probably when they are bored :rotfl: i shouldn't think they can see the other creditors just there own.
