As we all know, all towns and cities have parts which have certain reputations, but what, if you know, please, are the okay areas of Leeds?

Generally speaking, the south areas of Leeds are not so good, but Morley and that area is an exception. North of Leeds tends to be a bit nicer, particularly the north west side. Avoid student areas like headingly etc as they tend to have a higher crime rate (students targeted). I am actually new to the area myself and did a lot of research but found that actually I could get a lot more for my money North of Wakefield. Lovely area, lots of green space and a lovely house for 100k less than North Leeds....0

Some areas in the west are nice too. Parts of Horsforth and Rawdon are lovely, as well as Calverley.
Are you looking to buy and what's your budget? Might be able to advise on area better if we have an idea of budget?0 -
Leeds - I will go for Moortown, Roundhay,Crossgates, Morley, Horsforth and Colton. Plus any of the smaller villages near Leeds like Bramhope and Barwick in Elmet - though pretty expensive.
Wakefield - Stanley and Outwood. Both less than 2 miles from M1 and M62.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Further out of Leeds is quieter. It really depends on your budget, what you want for your budget, and any must have like transport links.0

Thankyou for all the replies.
£600 a month and not too far away bus wise from Leeds train station.0 -
I would agree with North Leeds or around Rawdon, Horsforth etc.
Morley/Tingley, East Ardsley etc are nice too in the south.0 -
Horsforth or Guiseley would be good, both have train stations with direct trains to Leeds and also buses that run regularly.
£600 per month will get you a decent property in those areas too.0 -
Guiseley is a good suggestion, you can be at Leeds Train Station in 15 mins direct from Guiseley. Also regular trains to Bradford and Ilkley if you fancy a trip out.
It's close to the airport too.
I lived there happily for 8 years0 -

You might want to give a bit more information if you want really meaningful advice,it's a bit rude drip feeding it seeing as people are trying to help.
How about telling us what exactly you want so people can actually help rather than just taking a stab in the dark?0
