only if you have some sort of power meter that can read voltage, you need to see if the power connectors have any output

open the case and look on the motherboard, there are normally some lights on the moterboard, green or red LEd's, if these are lit up then you have power

Depending on Hubbys technical knowledge, the easiest way to check if a PSU is working or not is to switch off the PC at the mains, open the case and disconnect the PSU from the Motherboard (the connector is usually a white/grey connector about 2 inches long x 1/2 inch wide with lots of multi coloured wires going into it.)

Get a length of insulated copper wire about 6 inches long and bare both ends.

Switch on the PSU at the mains and insert one end of the bare copper wire into the green connector. Get the the other end of the copper wire and insert that into the black connectors, one at a time.

If the PSU starts up (you'll hear the fan inside spinning), then the PSU is working. If nothing happens, or it seems very week, or starts then cuts out, that means it's a faulty PSU and you'll need a new one.

    HTH.

    Michael.
