  • I exchange my Tesco vouchers for personal training at Holmes place it cost £400 for 10 sessions, so this will be £24 per session instead of £40

At Tesco you can get triple points on phone top ups. I usually go to Boots on Triple weekends but will now use Tesco.

I've got about 20,000 Nectar points but very disappointed at offers - I looked as the saucepan sets, and bearing in mind the 500 points means £2.50 at Argos, the "offer" to purchase the saucepan set with points made it more "expensive" than buying it!

Same with Runners World subscription - after reading this site, changed my £26 per year subscription to paying with Tesco Clubcard (£10.80 of vouchers), saving over half the price. Then found that Nectar did it to. But....

the amount of points you need to use means that it works out to the equivalent value of £39 -for something you could buy cash for £26....not much of a bargain!!

But if you spend your Nectar points when there's a Sale on, you get much better value. If you're looking for saucepans to spend your Nectar points on then have a look in Debenhams (70% off Blue Cross Sale). They have a set of Anolon Professional pans (3 covered saucepans, milkpan and skillet) normally £200 reduced to £60 (=12,000 Nectar points, but you have to change your points into vouchers first). Brilliant pans BTW! ;)

P.S. This was instore; I don't know if the online price has changed, as I can't get onto the site 'due to overwhelming demand'. Last time I looked, however, these pans were still selling for £200. Look up the 'Charcoal pan set'! LOL, you can tell Debenhams are more geared to selling clothing/fashion, as they oddly classify all their saucepans according to colour!
  • A little story about Tesco Clubcard Points.
I was looking to get my fiancee an mp3 player for Christmas.
I found the one I was looking for, lowest price online £59.99.
Tesco had it at £79.99, but were doing a deal where if you spent over £50 on electrical goods, you got 1000 extra clubcard points.
1050 points = £10.50 in vouchers = about £40 in days out deals.
So, taking a long-term view, that £79.99 mp3 player actually cost me around £40, a saving of £20 compared to the cheapest other price.
Obviously I won't get the benefit of this for a while, but somewhere down the line I'm going to use that extra £20 on a meal or a day out or something, and I know that I've made a great saving.
  • Question about Nectar coupons - I save my points and convert them to adams vouchers. my dad just gets his knocked off the shopping - are the adams vouchers transferable? what I was thinking of doing was getting him to change his points for adams vouchers, and I would give him the £2.50 that he would have saved, so that way we both get what we want. does anyone know if this is possible to do this - I have seen nectar coupons advertised on ebay but have steered clear for this reason - also adams vouchers seem to be specifically for adams. thanks.
  • Re. nectar vouchers - I use mine at Cannons Health Club where for 4 reward vouchers, 2 people can get a months pass. For one voucher (ie 500 points), 2 people can get a day's pass. Obviously, you have to live near one (my local one is just around the corner) but if you do, its a bargain. We used to be members and, from memory I think we paid over £100 a month. Once this deal came out, we quit and just use the vouchers when we want to go.
  • I have found for topping up my Pay As You Go O2 phone Boots give the best points - 40 points back for spending £10 & if Advantage Machine is working I usually get a coupon which is 75 extra points for spending £10 so I get a total of 115 points for a £10 top up - that's £1.15 to spend instore so effectivley (sp?) that's over 10% back!
2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please

Yes you can do this as I do it with my Dad - I give him the £2.50 he would have had off his shopping & I buy DD's school uniform from Adams. It's not Adams vouchers you are given it's Nectar vouchers WITH NO NAME ON THEM so you can then use them anywhere the Nectar vouchers are accepted.

I have 21000 points according to the post yesterday but as I'm not up to using them like Tesco ones, if I change them into vouchers do you specify where you want to use the vouchers i.e. Debenhams? Thanks!

Boots and Tesco - I'm on the ball but not Nectar!
