Anyone have opinions on SMS Legal

  • I'm still awaiting a claim to be resolved nearly 9 months later, absolutely kicking myself now so allowing them to convince me to let them claim on my behalf. Thought it would be a reasonably quick process but it is not, so dont bother giving them £495 up front and go to other firms who don't require upfront fees.

    Don't go to ANY firm.

You can do it yourself at least as easily and pay nothing.

    Hi
I have read all these posts about SMS Legal, T/A various names U Legal etc....

I can see all the negative posts. However, has anyone had any positive experiences with this company, i.e. actually receiving money?

Looking on the Ministry of Justice website, I can see that the company is currently being investigated by the MOJ under section 35 which refers to unprofessional conduct. When I took the call, they actually refer to that page of the MOJ website. Therefore do they really have anything to hide?

If anyone could share any positive experiences that would be great.

    Thanks.

All but the very unlucky receive money, but the very unfortunate receive it and also pay extortionately.

This site is not for reviews of claims companies, why would it be since the complaints process is simple and free?

Has anybody got any positive reviews about travellingo on the maiden voyage of the Titanic?

The ones I've read all seem quite negative as well.
  • I have just got 495 back from my bank under section 75 and they have said they have had that many complaints and they are being investigated ..I had 495 took out on my credit card by sms legal in January I complained to my bank and after a lot of emails and explanation between me and the bank I got my money back today ..so even 7 months on you can get your money back on credit cards under section 75 but if your bank looks into this firm they are already under investigation good luck everyone
  • I signed up 4 months ago, paid £495 upfront. So far to date they have got me a little over £2,000 back. It's taken a little longer than first mentioned but over all I'm happy.

I was worried after reading all these reviews but luckily everything is fine with my claim.

Except that you paid them nearly £500 for basically putting a stamp on the envelope containing your complaint!

    BEWARE THEY ARE STILL OPERATING
I was caught out last week, after they said they will take £1 just to verify the account and taken £495 out of my account.
I fear , I have been conned big time by them.
Yet, the the moj allows them to operate, I can not understand it!
Blocked the card, complained to the bank and fighting...
email the Scarlett boss, the Legal Obdusman, the consumers regulation and send cancellation emails to Scarlet Marketting services.
God help us if the fraudsters are out to steal, conn, defraud and let us die. What is the government do? where is the police?
Any one any ideas of how to survive the scummers?
Really angry and frustrated with the system.

Thanks for tha advise, I have already emailed him as per letter template from magpiecottage (many thanks) and he has read it.Got a call from a chap from the complaints dept who tried to get me to stay but insisted on a refund as I was not prepared to accept lies.Promised to refund within 14 days, (if ever materializes) but the card has been cancelled, I guess need to inform the bank.
