Blue Badge Question

What happens with the tolls that used to only allow a blue badge exemption if you also had the tax exemption? Since there's no tax disc now?
(I know it's been nearly a year, but I don't use tolls often and it's only just occurred to me).Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Those 'tolls' based on ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems such as the London Congestion Charge and Dartford Crossing automatically 'screen out' cars with an exempt road tax status. There is no need for a tax disc to be checked, it is all automatic.
If you are using a car other than one with exempt taxation in London, but have a blue badge, you have to pre-register for the Congestion Charge.

Still not clear

They won't answer because you have no right to an answer. I wouldn't give you one either, it's two years away mate, they probably have not made a final decision - anything including legislation can change in 2 years. You will end up having to give them a vehicle [ANPR] number - its their only way of verification & registration of your rights.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Perhaps HB should raise a question through WHATDOTHEYKNOW.COM0 -

Why, there is no conspiracy to hide anything, there is just no answer they will have all sorts of policies such as training, health and safety, and a million other protocols drawn up already - just not signed off yet as its years away.
The answer has always been easy from the very get go, if there are no tool booths you will have to give them a vehicle registration number and / or be issued with a 'Fast Tag' to be attached to the windscreen of the vehicle - simple answer.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Yep, that's how it works at the Tyne Tunnel. You are issued with a little round tag that goes in the corner of the windscreen which can be read by the scanner. Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0 -
only cars exempt from road tax can use the dartford crossing for free.0
