Blue Badge Question

I recently applied for and was successful in obtaining a Blue Badge - it was posted to me on Monday - I don't know whether I can use it in my wife's car as well as my own - since there is no mention of any vehicle reg plates on either the badge itself or the paperwork ?
I was not charged the expected £10 for it, either !!

As long as you are in the car. Yes.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

the blue badge is relevant to the person it is issued to and not the vehicle it is placed in0

Yes, you can use it as a passenger in another car, as long as the driver does not get out and do your shopping and leave you in the car, that's a big no no.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I have a blue badge but dont drive anymore due to disability.
I carry my badge an duse it when i'm in a car.. this could be my PA/carer, my family and even the taxi driver during a long journey so they can drop me in a safe close location to get wheelchair out.
The badge is for you and not for a vehicle .. if you are getting out the car and parked safely not to cause a blockage you should be ok.
Did you get the blue booklet with it about when and where you are allowed to use the badge.. i thought councils posted them out with badges?0 -

I do have the paperwork (sent with the badge) but no mention of exactly which cars I am allowed to use the badge in........
What about the Severn Crossing and London congestion charges - do they not make use of cameras ?
How do they know that I am entitled to "free passage" - unless they already know the car reg number ?
Similarly with number plate recognition devices in car parks (our hospital uses these) - will they not detect that someone has not paid and send out an automatic fine ?0 -
You stop at the Toll Booth and produce your Blue Badge.
If you are a passenger you give it to the driver to produce.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
It [the plastic badge] knows
- your NI Number [if of age]
- your driving licence number [if you have one]
- your surname at birth or your surname on an Adoption Certificate
- details of the town and country where you were born
- your address
- your likeness [photograph]
If you are hoping for a generic answer to all scenario's it does not exist, check each bridge, toll road, hospital, area etc.
BB concessions do not apply in Central London, City, Kensington, Westminster, parts of Camden and the south of Euston Rd.
Severn Crossing, here you are supposed to attend a manned toll booth, and the toll booth collector will check the face on the badge in in the vehicle.
Hospitals, the conspicuous position applies if it is for a drop off, it can and will photograph the car and you can argue later that you were in the vehicle at the time-stamp if you contest it.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
