I see your point lindilou but I think you would need lots of chatrooms to cater for your vision, there is more to mse than just DFW and bank charges, people post questions about everything, if there was 1 big chatroom all the genuine questions would get lost in the a/s/l carp. The forums take a bit of getting used to but I think they are actually very well organised a it is.

A chatroom would be good for lighthearted banter though :)
I agree wishi...but if the software could cater for one room then it could cater for many ...it doesnt have to be excessive you,re prob looking at maybe the amount of rooms per forum, which isnt alot and am fairly sure they would be used, but then it may deter away from the forums, but generally you will find people still posting on forums anyway. spesh when it comes to new news.
  • hmm, i'm yet to be convinced, i still see chatrooms as the domain of sex-craved weirdos! :D

now that depends on how the chatroom is run ..none is exempt from weirdos not even MSE that is why it could do with volunteer hosting...I would myself be up for it for a few hours per night(do not reply to that comment scouser) they already have a system here for reporting abusive posts so there would be no problem and on that note am goin bed nn all nice chatting to you and it made a change to have a little giggle out of the seriousness of it..

There would have to be a chat room for non money saving issues as some people just wanna chat (which is fine but as long as it doesn't get mixed up with the 'serious' stuff) as you can see from this thread :D

I think it would be much easier to have the chatroom on one of the major chat sites - with possibly a link from this site.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j

with all due respect Lass I have just read that thread and quite rightly alot of argument as to why we should or shouldnt have a chatroom is debatable, however, that thread was started in 2005 and personally the volume now of members far exceeds the 47,000 or so, so often you see posters on the forums totally frustrated because they cant find the answer to the thread they have posted after much searching, so in that respect they could pop in a chatroom and get an instant answer...I mean, how many times has there been an answer to a post saying....go look at the reclaim help thread or...go to the reclaim your bank charges helpthread post 7# or post 9#. Plus, who doesnt like a bit of banter and light hearted laughter, and you will be surprised at how many people would volunteer to help moderate the chatrooms for free.
