I am wondering do the student loans count against you when applying for a mortgage? If most ppl won't have to pay them back because they don't earn enough does this mean that they can't get mortgages until they are in their 50's?

Seems to have quietened down now and only one lone car stationed outside....I am taking myself off out for the day to visit an old Aunt who is on her own and I know she would appreciate some company and some cream cakes and flowers .....I am sure I shall find out what is happening later as all my neighbours are young and out at work ;)

Or go to work abroad after uni and the fees are written off!!??

That isn't true. You still repay when abroad, there are different limits depending on the cost of living in the country you are living in.

No, the amount you repay will be taken into account. So earn say £26k and the £850 a year in repayments will be taken off the amount you can lend as an on going commitment.

On the subject of going to uni or not - a lot of people move away to go to uni and they stay in the cities where they studied, mostly don't come home again unless the job situation is dire.

Interesting. We are very near London and most of the kids friends have gone to uni in big towns - Manchester/ Birmingham/ Leeds/ Nottingham. There may be other reasons, but I guess they are used to the activity available in big towns. Still the vast majority seem to return home. Once home, they all want to leave the nest and live in smaller places nearer to the centre of London.

    Hi Cheer1eader,
Our store has been a bit strange with CC recently.
I ordered Tresemme a couple of weeks ago. Ordered two of the small size, but they gave me two of the big size for the same price and then the same again. Was quite glad as the multi glitch didn't work that I was aiming for.
Yesterday on a non glitchy shop I ordered 2x 20 fish fingers but subbed with 3x12. I mentioned I was 4 short so he went and found me the pack of 20 I originally ordered and gave that to me, I also had some frozen rice in my shopping which I said I hadn't ordered but he said I could have it if I wanted it.

We will have to catch up soon. xx
