Sparky - I'm holding off phoning them for another day or so. When I rang the bank yesterday they said they had a 1p and a £58.xx debit pending from Asda - which got me in a tiz cos it should only be £26.xx. I expected the debits to clear through and show on my account overnight - but they haven't done so. I phoned the bank again this morning and they say both are still showing as on hold. Its possible that the charges will correct themsleves when they actually take the money.
I REALLY want to avoid phoning as, not only did I somehow get a £50 ish evoucher which is already showing on my account, I refused a subbed item and should be getting a just over £20 refund ! This was not one of my better CC orders - didn't think it through properly and ended up getting back more than I actually spent (assuming they don't screw me for the £58 !).
How many times does it need to be posted here about pending charges? You have queried this before and it's been explained to you and other people in full detail.
If you can't afford to have a pending payment against the FULL amount then CC/HD is not for you as it can take up to 7 days for the payment amount to be reflected correctly on a credit card.0 -

To be fair, I have never ever had a pending amount actually charged in my monthly statement. So it may show as pending but it is never taken from your bank account (or required to be paid for credit cards). What it will do is limit the amount of outstanding credit available to you, just until it is sorted.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think/hope that I am probably getting my knickers in a twist unnecessarily . I wouldn't have known that £58 odd had been ringfenced if I hadn't phoned the bank yesterday - I did that only because a couple of other people said that they had actually had too much taken from their accounts. Usually I just wait and the first I know of the debits is when they actually appear on my account for the right amount - the ringfenced ones don't show up, its only the bank that can tell me they are thee ifyswim. Any credits for refused items usually show up on the same day that the shopping cost is taken (for me anyway - I know some people have a longer wait for refunds).
Exactly this. As long as having ring-fenced money doesn't bother you in terms of spending limits there is no need to worry.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. This is my line of work so yes, it is reserved but rarely taken unless the company make a boo boo...which is rare. A are pretty good, although from experience I dont aslways get refunds if it goes minus, I just lose my apg money......lessons to learn about not going into a minus, lol xx If the reserverd (ring fenced) amount is not used it will drop back into available in a max of five days hth x0 -

Just rang Asda on the store no and extn CC lady gave me as have only received a refund of £4.38 instead of £4.38 x2 plus £3.29 for items returned - store had subbed and invalidated the 3 for £5 offer.
CC lady remembered me (so much for low profile) and said that couldn't understand why - however she has put through other returns now on the computer rather than the handheld as before. So maybe there is a glitch with handhelds (which we also sign as received) as even the staff don't want to use them.0 -

Just called walkers as its now 14 days from the earliest outstanding claim i have.
again i was told not to worry as they will definitely be sent. they said to give them a few more days.
the problem is with the coupon company supplying the vouchers.
the reason being - they had a surge of claims due to the promotion finishing and could not keep up.
i pointed out, that due to a 2 week ubd, i may not be able to use them if they come while im on holiday. she said not to worry they will sort this out if this problem occurs.
hth a few concerned elite.
I've only got one left to use todayTrouble is I now think of my shop lists in sets of £4 odd to include a walkers and only have to pay under a pound in real money - it was like the good old MOC days back again ..
I suppose its time for some NSDs and excavating the freezer again“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Is there any need to be so bloody rude ? I have NOT queried this before and I know full well about pending charges, refund times etc and I don't have any problem at all as my bank balance is extremely healthy so I certainly don't need you banging on and suggesting I can't afford it.
The ONLY reason I was puzzled is because the pending charges never ever appear on my online banking statements - I don't usually bother checking more than once a week and always before the correct amount has shown up. I wouldn't even have known that the full amount was on hold if I hadn't phoned the bank to query why there had been no transactions at all on my online account for around 11 days and somebdy else said that Asda had taken both the pending and the actual balanced from their account.ELITE 5:2
