That's what I meant to say, cut as in going completely. :(

DD2 is after 4 years of study already approx. £28,000 in debt luckily she started pre 2012. Without the grant this figure would be around £40,000

Why should kids have to get in dept. to be educated

I will not allow myself to let my kids get into dept. for education They are both educated and believe me its been a struggle.

eldest just graduated with results that you cant better :)

And the best thing is he is debt free :D this thread has been a life saver on times.

I do think that child poverty will rise and the use of food banks will increase.

I did your telegraph calculator link as if we would still be getting tax credits and if we were still entitled it would have been over £2,000 less.

It does not look good at all.

I have always thought one government is as bad as the next but these are serious figures to contemplate for a future generation.

I wish we could have done more to help my girls but while I was looking after my mum it wasn't an option.

They did both go off to uni with all the gear, for single living, like bedding, towels, kitchen stuff etc that mostly came from glitches/offers I found on MSE. :D

And they always raid/ed my stashes which I think thankfully has kept them out of their overdrafts. :)

    Congratulations to your eldest M4T1N.
