You would only have smelt it rotting for a day or so, but a fly would have found it and laid eggs. By the time all the flies emerge you get a swarm. All the same kind. It may take a day or two but then that will be it. You will eventually find a tiny mummified body and all the pupae cases left over in a far corner. This has happened to us, once and we found the remains 6 months later, actually on top of a wardrobe. Really strange and unusual place for mouse to choose to die, and doesn't reflect well on my dusting does it? :eek:T:Horrible:o, but we have 3 cats that hunt, and we were away for the rotting smell weekend.
Usually a dying mouse will have found a tight dark space underneath something extremely heavy, so finding the body may take some time, but this horror will end soon. When we found the room the flies originated from we just opened all those windows and sealed the doors. We just didn't go in that room for 3 days. All the flies outside of that room were quickly disposed of.
Hope that helps. Sorry for the horror story, but that really does sound like that is what has happened.
I send you a warm hug. No, have two.
Afternoon luvlies, bit of catching up to do as been tidying up and ebaying.
Just wanted to say we thought we had a mouse a couple of weeks back, one which Stanley Boy had brought in. He's got a habit of bringing them in through the cat flap then going off and doing something else and forgetting what he's done with them and by that time they've run off somewhere. We usually find them later and manage to catch and release them safely. This time however, there was the most awful smell coming from the laundry room.
We have a cupboard under the sink where we keep Stan's food. I tend to clear the shelves when it's rtc in store and keep the majority in the garage then bring it in a couple of cases at a time. The smell was defo coming from the cupboard and we seriously thought this time something had died at the back. I've never smelt anything like it.
Anyway, located the smell from an unopened 44 pack of cat food pouches. There was leakage on the outside of the cardboard which absolutely stank. Long story short, two of the pouches were very slightly open in the corner at the bottom. I rang manufacturer and they said sometimes the mechanical arm pierces the foil during packing and the contents take a while to leak out . They were very good and sent me lots of vouchers to apologise.
At least we got to the bottom of the smell though :rotfl::happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -

:hello:
Not much has happened in M - probably the least I've had for a while. Main changes are the Ex.Spec. Aromatico Tomatoes appear to be going off - I now have the M equiv. at £1.75 although msm now says £1.80 (perhaps it's looking at some other product?). I don't know if they had already ended the 99p comp. on the APG - I had them no trace instore in M on Monday. Also the Mixed Weight Free Range Eggs - I have the store today showing £1, which it did not have previously, so it seems the two stores on Monday that showed 79p (including this one) were wrong - further store had already said £1 then. I note msm still says 79p - I reckon I have got "£1"s in the stores today.
I have only used one store so far today, and I've decided it's not worth bothering with another store: effectively, after trying to resolve the queries online, I'm having trouble with the Counter Mackerel again. It's gone OOS in my store now today, but it's "probably" still available (at £3.66/kg) somewhere. I've going to remove the Beef Oxtail as I can't find that today - no evidence that this would be continuing today, whilst the Mackerel was £3.66/kg last week (or, at least, two points during last week) so it's 'probably' still continuing.
Otherwise, I'm having trouble with the following:
Silver Bay Point White (75cl) - no mbuy showing in this store:(, and it turns out that the Rose version is also 2 for £5 apparently according to online. I think it's so much more risky buying dual on T PP anyway than just buying straight in M and I don't expect it to work.
Cling Film mbuy not showing in this store, but I suspect still showing in the further store as was showing on Monday and still showing 2 for £2 online.
SP 'fresh' Spaghetti equiv. lacking a SEL but 'it's going to be 20p' and it says 20p online.
M Individual Pies mbuy has disappeared again in this store:( - was showing in two other stores on Monday and, apparently, still on mbuy according to online.
The "RTC" teas - eg. Nettle Fix - no longer available in this store but probably still around somewhere.
Whilst I'm not bothering obtaining details of the Sanexes, I'm getting details of more £1 plants again:wall:(:rotfl:). There's additional ones I've found - I may have the names of the ones I've already got slightly incorrect, as having trouble remembering Latin names etc. Which is strange given that one of my earliest 'specialist subjects':D, at the age of about four, was the names of lots of flowers and plants, including the Latin equivalents - basically I remembered the English and Latin of each. (Couldn't tell you what any of them are now.) All pretty pointless as one other plant was on 49p RTC in my specific store:rotfl:, so some plants can be obtained cheaper and this will vary by store.
I've been struggling to find the 3 for £1 mbuy showing on the Squashies sweets for a week or so, so, last time, I removed them. Turns out they have gone to 33p each:rotfl: (which, of course, is very slightly better).
Slightly worse is the Rajah Chilli Powder 100g that is already on the list, but probably should not be, at, we hope, 46p and 10% off. An earlier store let the cat out of the bag by having an out of date SEL, which shows it was 48p and 10p 'More' points offer - which, 38p compared to 10% off 46p (and only if that works), would be a price increase. (I don't know that the points offer is on anymore.)
Some more of the children's school books have gone down in price, to 48p:eek:(:rotfl:) and the Science and Technology 7+ has gone to 18p (anotheras 48p, like the 68p before it, was too dear). Maybe we should just wait until everything goes down to 18p before we buy it:rotfl: (and then watch and see an 8p price the following week:(:rotfl:). That's it - I doubt the Typhoo 240 at £2.49(:eek:) is of any real interest to anybody.
Finally though, a container with the big "Haribo 160g" offer label on it has now appeared in this store today as well (in addition to the other one on Monday). Still no evidence that anything other than Frenzy versions of Tangfastics and Starmix are included. They have "plain" Strawbs (which I don't think A has anymore) in the container but the others (may be pure coincidence) are Frenzy and not ordinary.
They clearly do not mean all Haribo 160g throughout their entire stock, as it seems they don't include this for example (which apparently went up in price from 75p to £1 on Monday):
Haribo Maoam Stripes (160g)
£1.00 62.5p / 100g
89p
Or Haribo Maoam Sour Stripes (160g) or Haribo Maoam Pinballs (160g). However, they just say, for example, "Maoam Stripes" on the packaging rather than also having the word "Haribo". (I'm down to individual detailed words again:o:o:rotfl:.) It makes a great deal of difference to me (and that is serious not sarcastic) - "Haribo Maoam Stripes" is not the same as "Maoam Stripes". In fact, if you put a full stop after something, it would probably not be the same to me:rotfl:.
However, clearly, the "Maoam Stripes" (it ought to be totally capital letters as that's what the packaging pictured on msm says) are "Haribo Maoam Stripes" according to msm. And therefore they are "Haribo 160g" and clearly they (M) don't mean all Haribo 160g after all when they say "Haribo 160g". Yet again, I think, a case of the presumably allistic person* that writes the offer label failing to consider every possible eventuality.
So, especially given the variations in price SELs on actual products in the normal aisles as well in different stores, I have no idea what they mean by "Haribo 160g" and have no confidence as to which ones are 50p or not - for 'safety' I've already removed them simply from the list. I think they include the ordinary Tangfastics and ordinary Starmix as well as the Frenzy ones. However, that is not what the SELs in every store say - I had £1 showing there in one of them on Monday and no SEL at all specifically mentioning the ordinary Starmix in two stores. I think, if I were to bother to contact HQ CS, they would be very apologetic. The "offer" (on whatever it applies to) is said to be on until 19th July. Anyway, I'm overdoing this one:o:o(:rotfl:).
Busy day later today - bet I won't have time to make all of the few changes to the list now I've spent lots of time writing this out and waffling here:rotfl:.
Just one store used today (only two days since last one anyway, not that that should determine the matter). Totally inadequate:rotfl:. Yet, I only used a single store for quite a long period when I used to go after work only on the Wednesday evenings. It seems the list has expanded a lot further than it ever was (and presumably when I was only using one store I would have been missing things if they weren't showing offers or mbuys in the one store and there was no msm back then to tell anyone otherwise). Not that it matters:rotfl::j.
*(Surely they must be allistic as no Aspie would ever write this way without total consideration of complete accuracy? Or maybe they would, as different people, including different Asperger people are different - but anyway I don't want to get into this.)0 -
And, I forgot to mention - how could I 'fail to mention' after writing all that detailed post?:rotfl: - that, for my talk, on the list, about the APG possibly missing some L'Oreal Deodorant, it turns out I myself missed one of them on Monday as I have four different ones today and not three as are already on there:rotfl:.
My 'excuse' is that it just shows how they could be missed. Actually, I think my comment on the list was there to cover myself as some of these versions are I think fairly new items or have not historically been consistently stocked in M - so I'm thinking particularly the Thermic one for example - which I haven't seen before Monday (probably been there for several years therefore:rotfl:) - might not be picked up. Honestly though I have no clue!0
